YoYoJoe and Throws n’ Brews are both giving away an Exotic Throws Salamander. All you have to do for each of them is follow YoYoJoe, Throws n Brews, and Exotic Throws on Instagram, and then leave a comment on the video.
So you’ve got to like 2 videos, an instagram page, and leave a comment saying you’ve done so. Then they’ll double check that you did. I like free stuff as much as the next guy, but…
My love can’t be bought
I can be bought
Unfortunately i deeply distrust social media ( yes the contradiction in posting is not lost )
Exotic throws salamander… There is entirely too many kids making too many “yo-yo companies” recently just because they think they can make a few bucks. Nothing unique, nothing new, even the branding looks lazy.
Yep.
Well damn, he said it.
Definitely agree, it’s also like $120 or something crazy like that for a monometal… but I’m also never mad about winning something for free lol
3 Instagram pages!
3!
That’s three more reasons I won’t be liking any of them. Now I understand the marketing technique, but I don’t respect it. It’s another one of those disingenuous qualities of social media that I refuse to feed into. Lately G2 has had the “guess what number” and MK1 had the video vote, those are legit and I do indeed both those makers so they get my likes.
I’m cheap. I’ve no problems jumping through a few hoops as long as they don’t take much effort for a chance at something free.
But… it isn’t even green
Which is precisely why I’d use it to trade for something that is green!
That’s fine, and I don’t want to discourage or disparage anyone for doing so. Free stuff is great. But I feel like I’d be falling for a scam. I also legit haven’t enjoyed any of the Ts&Bs reviews I’ve seen.
I use to make it a bit of a hobby (haha I don’t have a life) to get things free online. I still do, but I don’t put as much time into it anymore.
I’ve gotten some pretty cool things though from sending out my info and taking surveys and liking facebook pages and what not.
$15+ Zippos, Case Cutlery knives, $100 sleeping bag, $80 backpack, tons of Amazon and iTunes gift cards, soccer balls, custom lighters, glass cups and mugs, shirts…all sorts of nice things. And countless dinky little things.
I even spent about 3 weeks once investing a bunch of time in a site that totally sounded like a scam…only it was legit. I was getting paid to take surveys and to sign up for free offers. Made over $300 in 3 weeks without putting a penny into it. Bought myself an electric keyboard lol.
So following a few people on instagram for a chance at something free is no big deal at all to me.
When I was just jumping back into the hobby I loved his reviews. I watched a TON of them.
Over the last month or 2 though…I’m getting less and less excited about them. They all seem the same to me now. It’s just the exact same review over and over again. Different yo-yo…exact same review.
It’s also hard for me to take his (and other reviewer’s) gushing words too seriously knowing that they were given the products for free.
This is how I feel about most start-up brands, a lot of screenprinted half-thought logos on a Gildan Tee
“It handles everything you can throw it at”
Yeah they all do. I just never get a good idea of how the yo-yo actually plays from his reviews. I can get the specs and price myself, I want to know what the yo-yo plays like and how it feels, preferably with comparisons to other yo-yos that are popular.
I’d call this logo quarter-thought with that font.
