I don’t know why, but when I pick up a yoyo more often than not I seem to do the same trick. I usually do rewind into matrix starting from the end whip out the side, and lately I’ve added kwyjibo to the end of it. Do you guys have a warm-up trick/trick you do when you first pick up a yoyo? Curious if anyone has some good tricks to warm up with to try out.
Lately my go-to has been Cold Fusion, followed by Buddha’s Revenge, a Keychain, and Man on the Flying Trapeze and His Brother Slack.
Of course, I’m still learning.
Lately it’s been sidewinder first, then just play with wrist mount formations, slacks, lacs and suis

Quick simple speed combo that I learned and can do fairly fast. Gives me a feel for how it behaves under stress and how much it tilts and how it comes back afterwards shows me power and stability.
I have a handful of tricks I like to hit when I first wake up because I get scared I’m going to lose them—1.0 hook, basic ripcord tension hook and Brett stole. Then I feel safe to make coffee and breakfast. I usually have at least an hour after that for Yoyo before I have to work. That morning session I like to jump start my hands and metal focus with some black hops and whatever I was last working on. I don’t really start chilling and flowing and grooving and moving until evening but when I do, I almost always default to candy rain 2 as taught by shinya kido that’s probably my go-to let’s get yoing trick.
Bind. People get upset if you throw their stuff into the floor because their string is way longer than you are used to.
Either a regular hook or a 2.0 hook and then into some wrist mount combo lol also really like ladder mounts!

These are my goto good feeling tricks. When I land these the endorphins rush and a wave of blinding temporary euphoria and I am at peace for a few fleeting moments, until I inevitably try them again and miss them all and the rush turns into a crash. Only to start the process over. I love this yo-yo life

The first thing I usually do is throw down a strong sleeper, and I keep doing that until I get one that is nice and straight, from which I go into a split bottom mount and then do:
Mondial → four or five Barrel Rolls → forward Brain Twister → backward Brain Twister → bind.
