I wish I could have traded with him; I’d like a rare metal for a yeti which will be massed out just to cover the cost of the mold. I call this effect hype-er-beam.

I will refrain from being a jerk to you here, you obviously were just venting, and have calmed down, but, I did want to comment:
- Being here for 3 months is not all that long. Many have been here for years.
- Spending over $1k is not that much, many have spent that on just 2-4 yoyos here.
- claiming to be loyal, and then saying you’re leaving because you didn’t get one of the first 50, is not being loyal.
I’ve only been here for a month and a half. I’ve spent 5x what you have in that time. Not all of it here, but a lot of it here, at the YYE store, and the BST. Even before I spent all that, I e-mailed Andre for a favor on a purchase, and he was happy to go the extra mile for me. I was not yet someone who spent a lot, but he treated me like royalty. He will have my actual loyalty as a result. I got the same result e-mailing the guy’s at G2 and NSCo. They didn’t both do the same things as andre, but they both provided great service in their way. Again, I am happy to continue to support them. Just consider trying to learn some more persuasive ways to communicate with people.
Yeah, Andre provides amazing service. He really understands what it means to treat a customer right. I hope he remains successful. This site, and the store deserve great success with a guy like him at the helm.

I was offered the same thing. As much as I’d like a first run Yeti, paying 120 for one, heck even trading several high end metals for them just to make profit off people sounds like bad decision for both the seller and buyer.
People are getting way too crazy over these. for $120 you can get a decent metal, so why on earth would you spend that on a plastic? Especially when you know that in a few months they’ll be coming out improved, in different colours and for a third of that price…

Scalping is often not a bad thing, and this is one of those cases. It ensures that those who want something the most have a chance to get it right away, and the reseller profits off it. Everyone wins except the people who are only willing to pay less than what it’s currently worth, and all they have to do is be patient. The frenzy only spurs CLYW to make more so those people get to pay what they were willing to originally. No big deal.
Yep, greed is a very bad thing, but unless you know the guy, it’s unwise to call it greed. Sounds like he took a huge risk to acquire those extra Yetis and it will either pay off or it won’t. Probably not very much if it does.

Yeah I mean look, if it’s worth it for someone to pay $120 for a yoyo, and both buyer and seller are happy with the deal, where’s the moral dilemma?
I think this is only an issue when the scalper buys so many that he/she makes it hard for those doing everything right to get one right away. Like if someone were to buy 50% of the available yetis for retail and then sell them all at 300% markup… I just know that I was ready for the launch on YYE with my shipping/billing info stored, and I got one.
Let’s also not forget that within a month, everyone will be able to get one retail. Those who pay more now are paying not for the ability to own one, but for the ability to own one sooner than most.
Are they going to sell any more black ones? I like them.

What’s this about further runs being improved? How so? And did Chris actually say this?
The first run had the old YYF’s death grip spacers, the later runs will have YYF’s new spacers that snap in and don’t grip the bearing like the old ones so it is easier to remove when doing maintenance. Chris did say this, I forgot which thread it was in… look through the couple of threads about the Yeti, it should be in there somewhere.
