For sure, sometimes in text it’s hard to get a grasp on tone and when I reread my reply I was like ooo, I kinda sounding like a jerk. All love though.
I was on the YYE forums lurking before I even bought a throw researching - so I hope some of them make their way here.
Yep I think for most of us Brick and Mortar is the pipe dream. I want stamp cards to come back, then if you pass the first card you get a free yoyo or something. Lounge and trick circle in the back sounds sick.
Very interesting. The yoyo doesn’t match its name at all. I was thinking it would be a super light yet powerful speed demon but the shape and weight isn’t ideal. Oh wells, I guess it’s more about appealing to his TikTok audience, who wouldn’t know any better anyway. I was hoping it would be a yoyo that would interest me, but seems like that isn’t the case for the Godspeed.
Trust me on this> names don’t really have to align with who or what they are attached to.
When my friend introduced me to his fiancé, ‘Mo, I would like to introduce you to my soon to be wife. Hey honey, come over here. Mo, this is Kevin…Kevin, this is Mo’.
She said, ‘My name doesn’t bother you, does it’?
I told her, ‘I wouldn’t care if your name was Frankenstein. Now tell me, ‘Do you have a twin sister’?
Performance trumps ‘tags’ regardless.
Half the yo-yos released in the last 20 years seem to have little in common with their names.
To me, the names are just mainly for identifying the product.
If the yo-yo is a player at that price point, it could be called the Trickpony, lol
Before I wrote this reply, I was throwing around one of my favorite yo-yos, ever…. The Gulch.
That’s true. I’m just disappointed that the yoyo isn’t what I expected it to be from the name, especially when the name of it is in relation to “Godspeed” tricks. I think it’s quite reasonable to be expecting a yoyo that is built for extreme speed when its name is “Godspeed”. Also, with the huge popularity of the “Godspeed” tricks angel2up has done, it would be natural to reason that his new yoyo would be something that optimises for such tricks.
Watching him use it, it goes fast, very fast. Obviously it’s highly likely that it’s a product of his skill level, but without using it just yet, maybe it’ll be surprising.
I wouldn’t have gotten one if it was designed in a speedy fashion, because that’s not my desired shape, but with it looking like it takes some traits from a Dang 2 for 35 bucks, I’m game.
It’ll be good for the kids that watch his TikTok to learn on something like this too, assuming it plays like a Dang 2, as it was a very well rounded yoyo.
These newcomers are lucky, I had to learn on a Duncan Butterfly. They got it made.
Wow that’s a good point, I never knew the yoyo’s shape could be that distorted when taken too close. The example comparison makes the yoyo look much wider, much more organic and much bulkier than it actually is. If the profile ends up being similar to a Something Anglam then the shape is pretty decent for speed play.
That shape for $peanuts$ is sure enticing if you compare it to this($600$) yoyo🙀>
PS… I not suggesting a direct performance factor. Just suggesting that if the specs are ‘similar’ and the weight distribution is well thought out, that this shape seems to be very functional.
I would buy it however, Angelo forgot to post specs. So I have no Idea if i would enjoy it. I don’t blindly buy yoyos without looking at specs. because I have bought a couple Crap yoyos. (Unprld reduction, Sorry Tyler)
