Thoughts on the Godspeed yoyo?

I love the reduction

Yeah, Iā€™ve been around the ā€œnew sceneā€ since 2014, been playing for a little over 30 years now

Yes I do remember that yoyo, thanks, for some reason donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever watched the player though :man_shrugging:

This one is really good :+1:

56mm dia

Pics to go with specs OP listed above.

Plays fast and has some decent float, doesnā€™t play or feel like a Dang 2. It is its own animal, and for $35 itā€™s a steal.

I really like it. It does feel like it is built for speed.

If it comes out at $35 then I say great starter but itā€™s not for me. If the price is higher then there are better things out there.

Itā€™s $34.99. Lots of yoyos look the same. To me, it feels a lot like the G2 Reaper but better. How can anyone say whatā€™s better or worse without trying something first? Iā€™m not saying anyone should buy it but I guess there are a lot of psychics on this forum and the Godspeed will be avoided by Yoyo Hipsters because of the connection to a Tik Toker.

Angelo is telling his followers it is not for starters or beginners. He is telling begginers to buy a cheap plastic instead.

This is for people that know what they are doing. If you are kinda good at binding, this is not for you unless you want to get better.

I say that so you know that this thing has a nice sized gap for extremely advanced play, and it will require a skilled bind. The comparisons to the Anglam shape are on point, and that yoyo was a competition level throw at the highest level, made for speed.

There are tons of great inexpensive options out there. Iā€™m not telling you to pick this one over others, but instead to say this is one of the good ones.

I guess I needed a comma or maybe a period in there. At $35 itā€™s a good value. Higher then $35 even Yoyofactory makes a bimetal the K.O. for $45. Iā€™m a little surprised at the lack of a finger spin dimple given that finger spins were a large part of the appeal on TikTok. This yoyo does not appeal to me personally. It is irrelevant which person is marketing it.

Yeah, he said the DNA is fun and can be done on a cheap Arrow perfectly, and this is more in line for speed and competition. I like the subtle acknowledgement that their is more to him than doing the DNA and Spiderman 13 times in a row, lol. He hangs his hat on the Godspeed trick and tailored a yoyo around that.

I feel you on personal preference, while I acknowledge this thing is beast, I donā€™t play fast, nor will I be competing. I like old school laid back organics (because thatā€™s what I fell in love with back in the day and the love hasnā€™t stopped.). So yeah, itā€™s a peach to play but doesnā€™t meet my play style, my tiktoking daughter loves it though.

While it isnā€™t for me, itā€™s gonna be a killer for those that like fast and competitive play.

I love laid back too but I also love trying to play really fast to increase my accuracy and overall coordination. I donā€™t make videos nor do I have (or want) anyone to show off to. With an overall width of less that 41mm (narrower than most of my yoyos), I found myself getting pretty fast with great accuracy. It was an impulse buy with some money I had in my paypal.
