Hey One Drop fans, one of my favorite throws is my Markmont II. I like, for occasional responsive play, my Deep State. My One Drops are precisely machined, cool looking, and high-performing. I’m eyeing the Terrarian, but the shape is not one I generally find appealing. Users of this yo-yo: thoughts?
It’s nice when I want a different feeling yoyo. Personally, I find it very comfortable to throw and catch. Not heavy feeling at all. Great binds. I enjoy it a lot. I can not predict how you will percieve it if you get one.
The Terrarian is a good yoyo, the feel in my hand is a bit odd dude to the grooves, but it’s performance on the string is top notch: give it a shot - they don’t lose much in the way of resale value if you hate it
I second the fact it’s weird because it is ribbed but I prefer organic shapes too but always throws this one. Also onedrop is selling some nqp direct for the cheap.
The spike side effects, I have found, are not just for show. I tried flat side effects and did not like them at all. They made the whole experience feel off. I like the grooves for a change of pace too. Did you try flat side effects on it?
Actually in both my legendary and regular Terrarian I am using the new mini spikes - love the weight and look
I did this on my Terrarian as well. Confession: until I read this thread, I’d thought that I got a Legendary Terrarian from that “Deals” button. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I do like it though.
I only have the Legendary version and I love it. It’s base weight is a few grams lighter than the original, so take that into consideration if you’re thinking about getting one or the other. From what I hear, both are great which is unsurprising since it’s One Drop. I guess it depends on how much you’re willing to spend and whether you like lighter or heavier throws.
Since you asked about the shape, that’s one of my favorite things about it. The rims are wide enough and angled in such a way that it feels super comfortable in the hand. Like a glove.
Comfy, easy to catch (on the string and in the hand), available, smooth, customizable with SEs. It was the first ‘good’ throw I ever purchased, and it’ll be on my wall forever. I use it every time I try a new trick, as it us very catchable. The Legendary is also wonderful. A little touchier to maneuver (though some would say ‘faster’, making it both a positive and a negative for me personally), so keep that in mind. I can, have, and will always feel justified recommending either one. Though, desert island scenario, I’d take the original. Could probably use it to whack open coconuts.
