Been thinking about getting another One Drop after the Yelets, I have a bunch of Yoyofactory throws which are more competition oriented which is why I want something more on One Drop’s more casual, quality and fun side of things. My search has narrowed down to the Sugar Glider and the Terrarian with both having a similar “W” shape. I am also probably going to go for a solid color, so no need to decide based on a favorite splash colorway. Since it’s 20 dollars more, is the Terrarian worth the step up in price or should I go for the new Sugar Glider?

People always favor the newer yo-yo in comparisons like this, but it is One Drop so everything they make is good.
Honestly I’d pick based on whether or not you want side effects, but bear in mind the “legendary” Terrarian made of 7075 is coming out soon, so you might want to wait on that one if you’re going Terrarian.

I actually think based on your description of more ‘casual’ that the Terrarian would fit that nicely. The Sugar Glider is equally as good - but there is something really well balanced in terms of the Terrarian shape and how it moves through space, etc. It’s floaty and smooth but still carries stability - making for a more relaxed throw in my opinion. Sugar Glider actually has a lot more stability than it looks and its fast moving, etc. Plus the Terrarian means you can swap side effects with Yelets or get some new ones which also keeps it interesting and fun!
As @codinghorror mentioned too the legendary is nearing release and is really NEAT.

Thanks for the feedback, I don’t think I can wait for the 7075 Terrarian as I am moving to Europe in about 3 weeks, I was thinking of ordering a One Drop yoyo now to take advantage of the free shipping here in the U.S. That being said, I might opt for the Terrarian right now as I noticed it has a pyramatte finish just like the one I am loving on my Yelets. I also think André Boulay’s description of the Terrarian would really make it a unique addition to my collection! Just gotta wait for my payday to arrive

I would assume it is identical to Terrarian but 7075? Maybe they tweaked it, that’d put it in Kuntosh 5000QV territory.

Going by one photo I seen of the proto, there is quite a difference in the cup design. Shape looks about the same though. I definitely want one.

Darn, I’ve been now looking at the Top Deck from One Drop now and have been considering that as an option now, I know it’s probably not as floaty or wide as the Terrarian, but I have not had a 7075 metal yoyo before, any thoughts on which one?

Was going to say, you guys never just change the alloy. Always improve and utilize the 7075 as it should be.
Another reason OD rocks.
Not a fan of designers that simply change alloy. #Lazy

Top Deck rules. It is a seriously good 7075 option. It plays as close to a bi-metal as a mono-metal can. It was my first metal yoyo, and it is still one of my favorites. It feels super powerful and stable.
