When NASA began the launch of astronauts into space, they found out that the pens wouldn’t work at zero gravity. To solve this problem, it took them 1 decade and 12 million.
They developed a pen that worked at zero gravity, upside down, underwater, in practically any surface
including crystal and in a temperature range from below freezing to over 300 degrees. So… what did the Russians do…?
They used a pencil…

Plus it’s super handy to have your pen freeze up when it’s 193 degrees kelvin…

The Soviets also had pencil shavings and broken pencil tips floating around in the cabin. NASA is one of the great reasons communism sucks. Because that million dollar pen is worth not swallowing pencil shavings with your crappy dehydrated eggs.
