Things yoyoers intensely dislike

Hi French, pleased to know another yoyoing scientist!

I’m in geosciences, more specifically stable isotope geochemistry. Maybe there is some crossover with molecular biology in the use of biomarkers within geochemistry, or am I mistaken? Although I don’t work with biomarkers directly, there are some really cool things being done with them.

I don’t actually know anyone working with biomarkers in geochemistry, but, there is an incredible amount of work being done with biomarkers in disease biology research. Lots of people are getting very close to the saliva or urine test for various cancer types (which is amazing when you think about it, being able to see tumor cells or DNA in blood, saliva or urine…)

My PhD was in synthetic organic chemistry.

I kinda assume fast relates to its shape and how well it moves through the air. Is it like a frisbee or is it like a rock. I think floatiness is just a glorified way of saying its light (or at least plays light), and smooth just means no vibe. Dead smooth imo meaning that you cant really tell its spinning with the fingernail test. They are however thrown a round a lot now to describe any yoyo ever, and they are indeed pretty vague but there isnt really a better way to describe how a yoyo plays. Its not really possible to do it any better, and its also just a subjective thing.
