Clearly, he meant “Hardly anyone sits around inventing “tricks” for fidget spinners” which is also covered in the very post that you quoted.

I feel this. Words don’t mean what they used to mean.
Is this the greatest compliment a yoyoer can receive?!?
I dislike that other people suck at USING WORDS when I myself am expert in USING WORDS.
I have the most relatable one. You don’t even know how often it happens but still gets you slightly mad.
You do some wacky stuff while you aren’t recording, you do a mega cool trick, and you want to do it again, but instantly forget how to do it because you didn’t pay attention. Then you spend a good bit of time retracing your steps but to no avail, you can’t do it again, not because you aren’t skilled enough but because you genuinely can’t remember how you did it. I almost did it today, but got lucky.
Same. jk… point taken. I myself am by no means a wordspert.
However… if we can’t agree anymore on what words mean and their application then they become much less useful. The ultimate fruits of this seem clear in the erosion of the meaning of truth in the world today. As a yoyoer this is something I intensely dislike.

I think my point is that words are always subjective. What does “fast” mean to you when describing a yo-yo? Or “floaty”? Or “smooth”?
I intensely dislike when a drop happens in the middle of a work day. I think after hours is a more even playing field.
Also I don’t like when too many hot ticket items come out at once. There’s only so many funds I can misappropriate in a month before the accounting department (wife) figures out what’s going on. Glad the eHknown is delayed for this reason.
I absolutely agree with the former point. People seem to be becoming less articulate by the day, and sometimes I see a word salad that I just can’t properly interpret. I am however, dubious of the latter. It isn’t that we have a new problem with truth, it is just now that people are aware of a problem that has always existed. People just thought that they knew the truth and basked in ignorance. Im honestly glad that this stuff is coming to light so that people can interpret the truth for themselves, but unfortunately it seems like we are disseminating into political cults of idealized truths where everyone views the world from their cult’s colored lenses rather than just thinking for themselves. As a yoyoer this is something I intensely dislike.
After hours for you could be work day for others, can’t make everyone happy with every release.

Interpret as you will. 
Words can certainly be less subjective. If every word means everything then they mean nothing.
What are words? Just arbitrary placeholders for things and ideas. So we determine the things and ideas words refer to by context. For example, you mean a specific thing when you describe a yoyo as having an h-shape. How do I know this? Because you have provided a boatload of context
fast, floaty, or smooth are too vague by themselves when applied to qualities of a yoyo, but they still refer to specific ideas. Sure, without context, they do not provide enough information on their own.
oh man this is tricky to answer because I really wanna keep it apolitical… I wrote some stuff and deleted it. Anyways…
Let’s just say that as a scientist I believe the truth (or verisimilitude) matters.
As an old man yelling at clouds (aka the internet) I don’t think equivocating words and meanings is healthy for discussion.
As a yoyoer, I think floaty is a real quality a yoyo can have that is problematic only because it is normally ill-defined. 
Beezy, pardon me if I’ve asked you this before, but, what is your field of science? Mine is Molecular Biology (which really just breaks down to be a set of tools to answer questions in other fields of Biology)
The number of times I want to quote Inigo Montoya at people every day is depressing. The most recent bugaboo, for me, is the complete dismantling of the word literally. It has gotten to the point where virtually no one uses it for its actual meaning anymore.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means…
