There is foulness afoot

My dad came back from the dead, so I have to sell my collection to hire Blade to come assist him in shuffling off his immortal coil. CONUS only.

Sadly we do get waves occasionally of folks that try something from time to time it’s annoying cause this community can be amazing often but a few bad eggs can ruin the group easily

I sell my yo-yos as willingly as I would sell my kidneys. I won’t like it but I could lose one and survive

Ain’t that the truth. I think unfortunately that’s just the cost of a BST medium in 2026. They can slow it up a little, but there’s always gonna be dummy’s who mess it up for everybody.

Yeah, this '09 888 belonged to my great grandpa, who sadly died fighting in the Battle of the Somme. I’m willing to let go of it for only $400 since you’re such a nice guy.

It’s a concern for those whose partners may not pay as much attention to our hobbies. On another forum related to a completely non-yoyo topic, one of the head mods recently posted a note encouraging people who’ve spent a lot of money on that hobby to keep a more-or-less accurate inventory of what’s what, and also to make sure that their partner knows where that inventory is kept.

If something happens, the partner should already be aware that an email to the mods of that forum will get them immediate help in dealing with a collection that may run into the hundreds if not thousands (!) of pieces.

I don’t expect to have much to say about it once I’ve shuffled off  but my wife knows what to do in the event. Some will go to my son, but most of the less-rare stuff will be sold through a BST on that forum where at least a specialist audience can benefit from what I’ve spent a few years putting together (and I’m not a huge collector). The upside for her is that she’d actually get some money back instead of just donating stuff to the Sally Ann.

Yep I have an inventory and a few folks listed as knowing what to do but seeing how she handled her moms estate I know what will happen once I’m gone

If I manage to actually make a will someday I’ll probably just surprise dump them all on someone from the forum that I have the address to. :joy:

Like surprise Brandon give these to the club I guess.

I wouldn’t even know what to do if that happened lol

I have a will and silly but I have my brother as responsible to deal with my collections of stuff and contacts in the community and lists printed in a case for the valuable stuff but reality is my wife will get very tired of seeing the stuff and the will is a suggestion in the end I’m not there she can do whatever when I’m gone. My brother also isn’t the best in high stress situations so I doubt that he would argue with my wife.

Put them all in a big trick or treat bowl with a sign that says please take only one and leave it in a contest parking lot.

I’ll have all of mine buried with me. I’m on the yoyomap, and I consent to your treasure hunt
