ToTheFlames: Dr. Filthy returns

I’m hesitant to make this post because both family travel emergency and a sickness happened, but I’ve been very patient and I’m starting to grow suspicious.

They sold me 2 excellent CLYWs, smooth transaction and all with that the arrived as described, he thew in some string and a holster which was super kind. The items did have a strong odor of cigarettes, but I was able to air out the strings and I washed the throws with detergent and all was good.

While those were in the mail, I also decided to purchase a G2 that he had listed. He was not able to get it in the mail over thanksgiving which I completely understand, and then he had a family thing happened which I don’t need to explain. Things happen, I also get that. After a week of waiting still haven’t gotten a shipping notification, so I message again, turns out everyone got very sick, he was apologetic again, and I suggested a refund if that’s easier, he agrees says give me a couple hours, we chat a little more about some stuff and that’s the last I heard from him, 6 days ago.

The listing for the G2 is still up, and was never marked sold. He was last on 3 days ago, having ignored a message asking if he was okay.

So idk if I should @ him in this post, I’m just wondering if anyone else is waiting on something from them.

I wish I had the refund so I could snag this mystery box, but such is life. I have some great throws right now I guess. Also wish I had that G2!! Also bummed I missed the One Ring as well, just feeling a bit defeated and now anxious that I am not getting my money back. Splashed out on some cool throws when I sold my car, and I guess this makes the “buyers remorse” hit a little harder .

I would hit a dispute and tag him here that’s enough time that ghosting you now is a problem, as long as there’s communication it’s one thing but the moment that ends and turns to ignoring it’s time to call them out. I say this needing that embarrassing public reminder to get a move on myself before.

I unfortunately did F&F because he was chill enough in negotiations and had a positive posting past. His acct was created in sept tho…

Well then @TotheFlames looks to have some explaining to do in my eyes.

If anyone has dealt with another… previous “Dr” on the forum…. Did he use pirateship out of Grand Prairie, TX? I tossed the box because it was making my house smell like cigarettes, I guess I should have taken a picture of the label.

Edit: flipping thru the vargabond thread, someone who said they met him in person because they are nearby is also in TX…

Merry Christmas to me

Sounds like DrFilthy strikes again. When are we FINALLY going to ban his IP address @jhb8426? People keep getting scammed.

An IP ban wouldn’t solve this, residential connections generally don’t have static IP addresses.

This is a totally different IP, so RELAX…
Not even the same city/location.

I’m on my second Jack and Coke of the night so I’m pretty relaxed lol… it’s just a shame there’s been a rise in this behavior and no real way to curb it

Been my fear since started buying here, but that’s why I always use G&S. I’ll pay for it myself if it means I can get my money back if either mailing system fails or seller is shady. Fortunately haven’t had to do that here.

A few months back I ordered an expensive item listed eBay and but the seller and I took it out of eBays hands, well he shipped and it was lost in a UPS warehouse. Reached out to seller multiple times and he didn’t seem concerned to file a claim, so I just filled to get my payment back through my bank and square. Problem solved on my end. No idea if he ever went to try to get his package back from UPS, but not my problem when he fails to communicate.

Yeah I was in a good mood and had a good talk with this seller, and I generally trust a little too much. I realized it had been nearly a month since I paid him without progress so I figured I would see if anyone else has had contact
With @TotheFlames since they stopped responding after agreeing to refund.

I will for sure use g&s going forward.

I’ll push for G&S if things feel shady but I’m super picky and only really buy from folks I’ve talked to a bit or am comfortable with or are vouched by others I trust here. If I feel even slightly like a transaction isn’t worth it I bug out or call the red flag out in a chat. Worse case the person reveals I shouldn’t trust them or they somehow alleviate my worries.

I e probably missed out on some stellar deals but I live by the if it looks too good to be true it probably is rule

Only slightly shady thing was he listed the G2 while I was still deciding to pull the trigger. We talked a bit before the initial transaction about a few different throws and all that.

If things go south I will post dms.

He also said that he had it boxed ready to go, then later that he was looking at it again and found a scratch so he wasn’t comfortable sending it yet? This was after he agreed to refund?

I even paid him $5 extra bucks toward shipping because he gave me a good deal on the first pair. Now I see why.

I don’t know if you noticed but his account is suspended now, reason is that he is the same guy as DrFilthy. Sorry for your loss homie.

Yes I was talking with a mod, I made the call to ban him.

Thanks man, it’s a shame, but such is life.

New information…
The strong cig smell on the package was a clue.

Be careful out there, and thank you to the generous people in our community for the positive support.

We did a little sluthing and figured it out.

Scammers suck, use G&S, no matter what! Even if you talk for an hour with the guy.

I have some screen shots, I tried organizing them but messed up, too tired to try again so here you go!

You can probably figure out the right order but I’ll try again tomorrow.

Basically, lured me in with a good deal, sniped me on the second purchase to make money.
