This is very sad news. I love SPYY throws the punch line being one of my all time favorites. I always felt that SPYY flew under the radar but apparently to far under as they are now gone. Very sad indeed.
Aw man. :-\ I’ve never even tried any of their throws, but they were one of my favorite companies. Sad to see them go…
On a side note, I wonder what will happen to their team. Like who’ll they’ll get picked up by, etc. I don’t expect many of them (mainly Alexis JV, Devon Jackson, Sebby, and Guy Wright if he wants to be sponsored again) to remain unsponsored for that long.
…How? I just like them as a company. They seem to really know what’s up, and they have an absolutely great team. Even though I haven’t tried anything by them, I think really highly of them. I honestly don’t know what’s funny about that…
Not really. I didn’t say a single thing regarding their throws. Just the company as a whole. I’ve followed them for a while, and they just seem like a really nice company. I like the way they present themselves, I really like their team, and how the company is over all. They just seem like a really good company, and I really like them for that. Not for the throws necessarily (although I’m sure they’re great), just the company as a whole.
Their last couple of YoYo’s, Dynamo & Amplifier are some of my favorite carry around throws. Classic shapes that were manufactured very well.
I hope everyone who still wants one has the ability to find what they want before they start to disappear. I’m going to grab a few myself just to insure I will always have some of their throws on hand.
I wish them all the best in their future endeavors. I will miss them.
This news really surprises me. My only SPYY is a Spyder II which is an outstanding undersized throw. I’ve always wanted an El Ranchero but never convinced myself to spend the money.
I’m going to take a guess here and speculate Abby accidently left out a word she intended to use;
“oh well, let’s hope other companies don’t stop making yoyos.”
