Ok but the axle is rarely the problem, are the bearing posts short enough? Let me see…
It’s looking like it should. They may touch though. I know the old VsNYYC posts would work. That’s the only reason I have this half spec bearing at all.
I’d be curious to hear @codinghorror’s thoughts on how the TiVayder plays with a responsive setup.
Oh I wait I see you need a SUUUPER short axle to make this work.
I tried it without the axle at all and the bearing posts do seem to fit with a half-spec bearing, but you’d need a super super tiny axle. I don’t actually have one small enough…
I guess this means that God did not intend for the TiVayder to be played responsive. Do not anger God.
It would just require a small axle and the faith in that axle to not get seized up when you want to swap it back to the full length one.
I don’t see why you’d want to do that, but to each their own .
I think I have some tiny axles around here…
yeah I’m having real trouble getting the half-spec bearing back out now… may need to use vise grips
I do think it will work provided you have a TINY axle and are willing to deal with it being very hard to remove.
See? You angered God…
I got it out with a bearing removal tool no problem.
Both of the removal tools I have on hand aren’t working for me. Let me get the vise grips
Dang no this one is stuck. I made a biiig mistake testing this on black, which has the most ano and thus the tightest bearing seat
once you go half-spec you can’t go back, or something like that
What sucks is this is one of the spares to be used in case anyone has a bad order that gets lost in the mail or whatever, so if I damage it… that’s bad. I think I’ll have to dremel this half-spec bearing off… nothing else I have is working, including two different bearing removal tools. The bearing post is just high enough and tight enough that it can’t grab right against a half-spec bearing.
Aha. I was able to get it by prying out the ball bearing retainer and a few ball bearings then wedging a knife edge between the two bearing metal edges and pushing
(I have a ton of half-spec bearings so I was fine with one being sacrificed to the yo-yo gods.)
PROTIP: if you must do this, try it on a raw. Least anodization therefore, the loosest bearing seat
If you use a dremel please make a video.
@codinghorror I just love this photo! Great job.
$140 + $80 shipping = still cheaper than most other titaniums.
As I already have a Ti Walker (OG Luke), I only picked up a black Vayder instead of a black and a raw (Disney Luke).
@LinksLegionaire Since you have an OG ti walker I’d really like to hear your opinion of the Vayder when it comes in the mail
lol I got the dark side version because I like large numbers
I got a dark version looking forward to it thank you from the uk
