The 0A Thread (Fixed Axle & Modern Responsive)

Ohhhhhhh, that’s so good I hadn’t even thought to land it on the fingers!

I’m innovating?! Holy smokes!

After feeling the need to do a full on fixed axle February, I have had a hard time putting the fixie down. I’ve only thrown unresponsive a few times since, and find myself just wanting to play fixed instead. I’d consider it my for to style now.

And that GT looks fun, gotta give this one a try when I get home from work. I’ve tried doing it before without the stall, and the string would always grab so I gave up. Is a triangle flip possible? Edit: on further examination it looks like that’s what Adam just did, lol

It’s risky! But doable, lol.

Yep, have to really make sure to keep the triangle open. When I first did them I’d have the tendency to pull slightly with my throw hand and either close the triangle a little or completely. Then you’re fiddling with getting the knot out.

Awesome, was able to do both the GT stall and the flip! Fun trick to add to my fixie repertoire. Been doing nothing but kickflips lately trying to get good enough to do a double, so this was a nice learning session. Im really happy with my fixie progress lately, I love this style so damn much

Lmao, that double entendre made me almost spew the taco I was eating across the screen of my PC

edit: btw the metal in my UN is for music since I love metal (mostly death, but most other genres still appeal to me strongly)

Have you learned 1.5 yet? It’s another like a kickflip trick that is super satisfying to land!

Just landed another cool kickflip variation, two flips forward, stall on your hand, and three flips backwards. (My shiny sticker really helps with tracking)

I know what you mean!

I don’t contribute much to this topic but really enjoy reading it.

For me fixed axle/0A yoyo play is just a nice change of pace from 1A yoyo, which don’t get me wrong I still love and enjoy. Fixed axle tricks are satisfying in a completely different way, for aaaaages I enjoyed just picking up a fixie and doing a few simple stalls over and over and over, and now I can do kick flips (almost quite) consistently!

I need to practice Shoot The Moon some more, can’t wait to get that one down!

Oh and also 0A and Fixed Axle doesn’t seem to encourage so much in the way of gear obsession, it seems to cater for those who enjoy playing more than anything. Much less talk about how important performance is and more encouragement in actually playing!

This is very true. People are way less hung up about equipment and more about enjoying it and encouraging others.

Some incidental 0a on an axle knotted Dingo. Just a kickflip. Really need to find me some bearing blanks without the Luftverk markup.

The blank is worth it. I’ve been playing this for about 2 weeks with it in there. So much fun.

I just find it difficult to pay so much for so little. Like I realize Luftverk does AMAZING work and QC, but damn.
