Anyone get a chance to try Smash 4 at the Best Buy events? What are your initial thoughts?
My initial thoughts are it’s a much better version of brawl. It has a much competitive nature than brawl, it’s faster and no tripping things like that. But there aren’t some of the more competitive parts of melee, al la dash dancing, wave dashing, and such. It’s possibly that there are still aspects of it that will lead to the depth melee had, but we haven’t even gotten close enough to the surface to even consider thinking we’ve scratched the surface. It’s too early to really tell.

Better than brawl, but doesn’t have the same depth melee has. But still too early to really tell.

I got myself out to smash@xanadu last night. I had to leave early but I had a blast. Definitely done with DDD though, he’s fun but easy to punish. Maybe I’ll try again with him in Smash 4.
