I recently got a new bimetal yoyo, and the bearing has locked up. I tried to unscrew the yoyo to clean the bearing, but the yoyo won’t unscrew. My first instinct was to put it in the freezer, to make the axle shrink, but as this throw is a bimetal, would putting it in the freezer mess up the SS rings? Is there a better way to try and unscrew the yoyo?
The round section on most pliars works well. Just be careful not to grip it toooo tight. Just tight enough to give it small wiggles, in a twisting motion. SMALL wiggles. You don’t want the pliars to slip and scratch the bearing or seat. You should feel it loosen up after 3-5 wiggles.

This technique worked perfectly. I didn’t have high hopes, as Scotch tape was all I had on hand, but it unscrewed.
