By string type, I don’t mean “cotton, polyester, and slick 6,” I mean when you see something like, “type 6, or type 8, etc.” What’s the difference between the different “types” of string?
If you take the loop that your yo-yo goes into at the bottom of the string, untwist it like you’re going to put the yo in, then the string thats being untwisted, untwist it count the strings that are there, and double the number. That’s the string type.

From what I recall, it means thickness. The smaller the number, the thinner it is. Type 6 is the most common size string there is. That’s why it’s called Slick 6.
