I haven’t tried very many strings, so my opinion doesn’t quite weigh as much as the other suggestions in this topic, but I love One Drop Basics. I don’t hear people talk about it a lot, but you can buy it in the standard 100 bulk for about 10 dollars. IMHO they are softer and feel better for slacks than standard YYE bulk poly. They are also a bit longer, but still come pretied — Which I prefer. That’s not to say YYE bulk poly isn’t good string, though. It does the job and I always have some lying around. 
Gotcha, sorry, read what you wrote totally different than what you meant.
Get a sample pack of Toxic string. It has one of each of their formats in the package and will give you a good idea of what they offer. Toxic pretty much has a string type for everyone.
