I know how you feel man it’s so sad :(. But for now I call upon my fellow string makers for help. I found my ideal string but it turns out the company that made the materials stopped making it. do now I’m on the search for new material.I want to almost eliminate string burn so how would I go about doing that? What type of thread can make a string that is tough, real soft, and whips/slacks well? How can I make a string hold tension well, aswell?
Hi, can you guys give me some suggestions for a rig if I don’t have much space?
My first rig was super basic it folded so I could store it easily, and it could make five strings at a time. It also featured some finish nails so you could put your spools on. If you want the blueprint send me a message.
Epic Strings might just be on the YYE store soon…
PM’ed
You could also try to make an outdoor rig
Where would it be possible to build the contraption? I don’t think there is anywhere outside my house that I could build a string rig.
@squaktopus13
I await your PM
oh man I’m sorry, I’ll send you that soon!!
Has anyone here tried making strings with 100% Silk? Over 10 years ago, my Mother gave me a little container full of spools of thread, and in it there was one small spool of 100% silk. There was enough thread on it to make 1 string. I actually still have it!! Really wish I had more of that thread.
Too expensive. I’d imagine dosnt hold tension great. And once again. Too expensive. Something similar might be Rayon but I’ve never used silk before.
Rayon has a very nice soapy feel to it, good on the hands and whips well.
Any movement on the Boutique Bundle, or did it die?
It’s all in Andre’s hands now.
Just waiting for packaging and assembly.
Sooooon.

Thanks Paul! Rockin a G-String in my Chik this past couple days by the way!
Greg that’s funny because I’m rocking g strings on one of my chiks
I got my first G-strings (SOLO) when I first started yoyoing over a year ago. At the time, I craved thick strings… so I actually hardly used them. I only had 2 left, and one of them is in my Chik now. Gotta get more… there’s still a place for thick strings in my toolbox, but sometimes only a high-quality thinner string will do!
The thin string is slick in the chik gives you enough time to or as you please and not sacrifice spin Time.
I like fat strings in my majesty but mostly everything else is medium and thin strings. I love the solo strings they start a little thicker but as you play they thin out and whip good, slack good, & last on average longer then most other strings I’ve used. My list of favorite strings are as follows
Twisted Stringz (not sure which type I like all Jens strings really hard to pick)
G-strings (solo are there other types of G-strings?)
And the atomic wonder (it’s not necessarily the string as much as the color I’m a fan of the color.)
There are a few strings I like but I don’t play them enough to really have an opinion yet.
I just picked up the pink and orange and I love that colorway /Paul!
I didn’t realize you were talking about a yoyo until about 10 minutes later…
Lol I wouldn’t say that is a false statement either haha.
I just died…
How do you make string hold tension better? And what’s a high quality thread?
