Sometimes when i throw, it feels like the string is grabbing or unwrapping roughly. When i don’t feel that and it throws smoothly, i get a better, and vertically straighter spin. When it feels rough, it might land on the side, or be very wobbly while it spins.
Any diagosis?
Loose wind, the string is sliding down the side of the top instead of unwinding. Make sure to get good tension and an even wind. That happens to me regularly when I am trying to throw fast.
Also, some tops are slipperier than others, a smooth release is nec. for them, if you are throwing a boomerang, you may have to throw softer and make up the speed by pulling back faster after the spin is well established.
I will wind tighter to see if that fixes it. That may be my problem as i have been winding the string fast onto the top,while congratulating myself on getting ready to throw faster. Thanks!
