I am a 38 year old newbie who started getting into yoyos. Im a bit of a tinkerer,so i bought a cple of FHZ’s and modded them. All i did was cut a groove and filled it in with silicone.
I am wanting to by more yoyo’s but I am not in the mood for modding again just want to buy and play lol, i was wondering can you still do the binds and other Intermediate to advance tricks with a stock FHZ? Maybe take one pad off?

I’ve heard that the newer freehand 2s have a recessed pad so they might do the trick. Honestly i’d say get a yoyojam yoyo they have a groove for the O ring response, but you sili them really easy.
If you use one silicone pad and a broken in or cleaned bearing it plays unresponsive… Take about an hour wear the pad right but it plays good aftert that
