Honestly, YYR I feel should be solid, slightly translucent
Like they are.
And blasted would be nice, not not necessary.

I can see on a CLYW
Or SPYY but on a YYR is just… Odd
I think they are absolutely horrendous!!! YYR’s are meant to be solid and have an amazing look that made them unique.
I think they were just trying to conform to what most people like these days. Honestly most yoyoers like splash and acid washes rather than solid colors and i think YYR was trying to get into that niche.
I would love some if they offered some Beadblasted versions as well!!! A kid can dream right

Actually, I kind of like some of them. But I generally prefer my YYRs raw.

I usually dont like the splash on YYRs but these are pretty cool…Top 2 are my favorite.

YYR Sleipnir; Benson Fok ed.
YYR and splash?
Here is the Benson Fok Sleipnir. YYR is getting better and better at this 7075 anodizing. Tell me that is not a gorgeous yoyo! Watch out CLYW.
Pictures do not do the colors justice. All of the colors are the bright colors you expect from YYR. This is one of the best looking yo-yos I have ever seen. Even my wife thinks it looks cool.
Sounds like it’s seriously pretty. Definitely looks it.
Overall, I’m not a huge fan of the YYR splashes (or how they charge a rather large extra premium for it) but some of them do work. Quite fond of the pale blue and silver splash Sleipnir.

Agreed on that extra charge point. Even though cool - the extra money for anodizing is way too much; at least in $. That will limit how many special editions of YYR I might pick up.
I do commend YYR for striking out in this direction, however. There is definitely a part of the yoyo market that collects yoyo’s as artwork. Having a few offerings for them will be a plus for YYR.
Lets face it though. No one will ever buy a YYR because of pretty splashes. You buy a YYR because they are the best at what they do.
I love that Benson Fok. I had a hard time choosing between that and a Fragment, the fragment won this round, mainly because I didnt want to spend the extra money
If you already have a Sleipnir, you made the right choice. It is, after all, only paint.
All of those have varying degrees of anno bleeding.
Like… where? I see no anodizing bleed anywhere. The splashes all look nice and crisp. The only bleed I see is in the background wash - and I think that is intentional. You must be seeing something I do not.
I dont yet, I’ve wanted a Fragment hard lately and couldnt see myself without it. The Sleipnir is next ;D
