As far as Caribou Lodge prices, I’m assuming none of the people that have an issue with CLYWs current business model(save for the Yeti…)were around when the only way to get a Bear Vs Man was to deal with someone who put theirs up in the BST before YYN could even get it to their door. For double+ what they bought it for.

I’d rather take the chance to get a cheaper model then be guaranteed to spend more

I hate the BvM, Puffin, and Gnarwhal
Just like i hate all OneDrop except for the Format:C

I have one CLYW, the Wooly marmot, which i absolutely love using

For me it just comes down to the Yoyos themselves, not the company
I can care less if X company is more popular than Y or Z company; the products speak for themselves

As much as the CLYW hype may annoy some, there is a big picture that people need to see.

Hype is an animal, it is the flow of popularity and sucks in most with the idea of being cool and mainstream. Hype sucks people in typically at the start of things, as it did for me with CLYW. Most people are cured of hype as time goes on, and they begin to like other things while still liking that mainstream brand.
So, HYPE = NEW PLAYERS
If the hype dies for CLYW, we are losing the stream of new players, which could be detrimental to the still fetal hobby that is yo-yoing.

The world event still can’t top 1,000 attendees, and very few retailers carry the real deal product.

Ehh, there okay. I have only tried like 3 of their throws though. The summit was good. Avalanche wasn’t (IMHO). And I tried some other mysterious one that was good. I really Anna try a chief cuz I hear those are gods. Literally. Haha.

I didnt really read the entire thread due to lack of time. But I have noticed an excess amount of hype around this brand. Now dont get me wrong, CLYW makes fantastic yoyos, I have quite the collection of them myself, but there are too many new players that are obsessing of the brand.
For instance Ive seen so many kids change there usernames and bios and stuff after they get a single caribou lodge yoyo, now this is somewhat irrevelant but it annoys me to no end. I understand being loyal to a brand but fanboi-ing is really annoying. Just my opinions.

oh and on top of that clyw has one of the best contest teams without a doubt
