I’m surprised not to hear much about Ann Connolly. Seriously, her Champions Collection throw is a plastic. Not that she herself seems to entirely endorse it seriously, but hey.

Having a high end yoyo doesn’t really help me all that much. I am just as bad on my Anglam as I am on an upgraded Classic. And you know what? I don’t care because I’m still having fun. Last I checked, that’s all that matters to me.
I like these videos of people using inexpensive yoyos. Josh Yee used to use a lot of “cheap” stuff in his competitions and was holding his own just fine. Watch his 2012 CalStates and BAC videos, especially 5A and 3A. For 1A, he does tend to use something more expensive and often metal.

I’m thinking about competing with a WHiP. That would be fun!
I don’t see why not? I mean, let’s look at a few things:
There’s no rules as far as what you can use. There’s no restriction on “how much” or “how little” it costs you.
There’s also no rule saying all your yoyos have to be the same. I see people, especially non-sponsored players, bringing up a mix-bag of assorted yoyos.
People are competing with upgraded Classics and kicking serious butt. Last year, they were using Protostars, which still rock the competition circuit hard.
If you feel comfortable using a WHIP, then I say by all means, do it. A Whip wouldn’t be my choice for competition since I prefer heavier and a different shape. Other than that, I see no problem with using a WHIP or any other quality yoyo. Yes, I do see the WHIP as a quality yoyo.
If Josh Yee is hitting the stage with PSG’s for 3A and 5A… again, it ain’t the cost, it’s the player.
Besides the Jensen, Ed, Drew, etc. stuff…

You’re joking right? You called out yoyogeezer for not delivering a 1 minute combo with his Stealth Panzer. Obviously you were questioning his skills, or did you forget? “Walk the walk and talk the talk”, I believe is what you said.“Armchair thrower”, that’s another one. What if hes just another thrower like Studio42? His review was quite professional and I can tell he enjoyed it. Why does he have to prove anything to you? I don’t see other yoyo reviews making videos of their claims.
