Side undermount bind, without hand murder

Every time I try side binding, like letting a trapeze swing around and loop around the opposite way, my throw hand is faced the wrong way. I have to essentially catch it from above instead of catching from below. Half the time the side of my hand gets hit, and I’m slowly getting bruised up. Is there a more correct way to do this?

Well, first of all, you shouldn’t be binding from a trapeze. If you change to regular binding you should be okay.

He says he’s looping around opposite of the trapeze, so I think he has that much down.

I generally undermount and lower the yoyo so the string is almost horizontal. Then I turn my TH palm down and bind.
