Yes it’s pretty good for its price but wish it had a finger spin dimple to do your DNA’s and stuff.
Honestly, all of these throws are great. Performance differences will be somewhat marginal. Maybe the Helix edges out over the Shortcut (plus Helix has finger spin dimple), but that doesn’t mean you’ll like it more.
My suggestion is to choose the one you like the look of the most.

Your right, the Helix or even the shutter are great options, it all depends on personal preferences and what people like.

I was never in the market for a Shutter, but I bought one when I visited the national yoyo museum earlier this year. Something about it seemed right.

Because gentry is from that city the museum is in and they have all of his winning Shutters on display. Figured if there was ever a place to get one to add to the collection, that would be it. It’s my workshop yoyo now.
The Duncan Evolve is super good too btw.

well its like he wins Nationals with a metal Arrow, in that case there is obviously something right about the yoyo, right?
Most people seemed to be fooled about the shutter, sure it won Worlds BUT THAT is most fans are fooled about, because the yoyo it’s self did not win Worlds, its the person that practiced for hours with this yoyo that most people say a good all rounder and not great for one style of play.
AND THE REASON people say its great all rounder yoyo is certainly because the way Gentry won the finals, he did side style combos combined with flashy god speed and then before you know it he’s doing horizontal combos.
IF he did not use the shutter and instead used a Horizon, people would slightly prefer the Horizon over the shutter because… You know…

So the reason I made this post post or forum is because I was interested with the shutter but it’s been a while since it’s release, But I knew there were much newer options in the market, and maybe, they will out play the shutter by quite at bit, and even in the price.

I can say that I had received one in a trade and I honestly enjoyed it. Hard to practice fingerspins on it personally, if that’s your thing. I loved the finishing, and it played great.
I ended up giving it away to a friend who showed interested at a party. I miss it from time to time, but I’m not going out of my way to find another, though I would like to have one again.
Decent mono, if you can find one for cheap go for it, but I wouldn’t buy one new because there are much more interesting boutique options available for the money, most of which mentioned here.

I have heard of it, but my attention is on elsewhere in the YoYo community to be honest; I don’t keep up with Gentry or Brandon or the others in that scene really.
Offset yo-yos are great from what I heard of.

Yoyofriends makes quality yoyos. They stand out because they have their own manufacturing shop, FPM. FPM not only makes their own Yoyofriends throws, but they do the manufacturing for lots of other companies.
