Totally, world record is longer than that and Gentry is a pro, so hitting these numbers are definitely legit.

Agreed I’ve gotten a cheap magic yo-yo to spin for like 10 minutes if you have a solid throw it’s not that hard to do.

I swear Japanese designers are always putting some magic into their designs.
The trick to do that with basically any unresponsive throw is to control the tension of the string by holding it with two fingers and twist it or untwist it as needed (that’s why he’s holding the string close to the throw) to keep the yo-yo centred.
