same can be said about all the us “horror” movies that have been put out for the past… 15 years.

Comedy does not always equal not scary. Horror does not always equal not funny.
The way the deaths are presented, the way certain “spooky” scenes are presented, it is extremely hard to take it as a legitimate horror. They are presented in a fairly comedic way.

I don’t watch much but really liked SAO and Death note.
There are a few more I can’t remember their names though. Those two stuck with me more for some reason.
