So the Protostar is one of my favorite throws, I have three, and being my favorite means they’ve gotten a ton of use. The bearings in all three went bad and I had to remove them and clean em, which meant I had to destroy the spacers to remove them from the bearings and put new ones on. All of them now have varying levels of vibe. Any way to tune them? Obviously the usual messing with the bearing and axle is impossible because of the design but maybe theres another way?

I’ve had a few protostars over the years and I what I can tell you is that they’re just naturally vibey. Between being a plastic and having bearing spacers and everything it just doesn’t make for the smoothest throw in the world. My advice would be to try and refit and adjust the spacers. Sometimes the bearing isn’t sitting perfectly in them and that can cause more vibe than normal. But other than that it usually is what it is man like you said they’re hard to tune given the design
