Okay…so I don’t want to type this out loud in the public.
So maybe I can type it, but then everyone can go ahead and pretend they didn’t read it? Then we can all move on with our lives like nothing ever happened.
I opened up my L. Terrarian to swap out the bearing.
Half the yo no longer had silicone…just an empty gap. >.<’ No idea how the silicone disappeared? Hasn’t happened on any other throw yet that I’ve siliconed. haha /DOH!
I’m obviously no genius…but I’m thinking that might have some small part in why I was struggling with my binds. xP I feel like such a silly dum-dum lol.
Threw the response pad back into that half.
Then I switched over to a duncan concave bearing.
WTH?
What kind of magic is this?!?
It completely transformed my yo!
I’ve just thrown it around for 30 minutes and holy damn! lol…it’s still a tiny bit tilty, but dang! Nowhere near what it has been these last couple of days! I was whipping through my tricks and combos with so much more ease with it! Even on a longer combo I’ve been working on that has lots of twirls and loop thingsy that I’ve been struggling like mad to keep the yo straight on the string with…ate right through the combo!
Can a bearing really make THAT much of a difference? I’m thinking it very well might be a placebo effect going on haha.
And obviously…it’s binding just fine now too! Not the snappiest binder I own, but more than workable. I think I’ll try to silicone the other half again for attempt #2…before the silicone vanished, the binds were damn snappy and satisfying!
So…I’m so not ready to put this yo back in my bag again now! I had a blast here just now with it! And heck…I even like that it’s a tiny bit unstable. I truly believe that it’ll force me to throw straighter and to work on being in better control during my tricks.
I really can NOT thank you enough Smiley! I honestly didn’t even think to switch out the bearing! Wouldn’t have crossed my mind!
I’m a bit in disbelief that it’s made such a difference! I mean…holy hell! xP
