Plastic Peak CLYWxLuftverk

I’m not sure if you are referring the brand Delrin or just POM. I know for sure that POM can come in a variety of colours. The colour is throughout the whole rod, not just the surface.

I’m referring to Delrin, I don’t know POM.

That’s the same material but under different names when produced by different companies.

thanks for the information, in Italy, in bars, I only find delrin, arnite and teflon, in only two shades of color.

Delrin and Pom are chemically the same. The others are different materials I think.

Delrin is a POM plastic proprietary to DuPont but not all POM is equivalently to Delrin.

I’m pretty sure there are generic delrin plastics under POM but I’m not in any way an expert I’ve just seen this conversation a few times so far.

Doesn’t change the idea that most Pom can probably be made in different colors

How are these after the honeymoon for you all?

I have one coming in the mail today. Thank you @knotgreen

Alright, I got one. I will speak to the color. Definetly reminds me of the caramel color of a Wherther’s hard candy. Took the picture below, no filters applied, no flash, and it was cloudy out.

Aesthetically and design wise, it definetly gives respect to the original. The high walls and nipples are present and accounted for.

Now the important part. How does it play? It floats and can hand grind. It didn’t have the OG CLYW vibe, but it’s a quick fix. I beat it on that log in the picture a few times and I can say that it now has that CLYW soul. Jokes aside, this thing is fun. Not niche fun, fun fun.

I’ve been making yoyo trick videos lately. This will be in heavy rotation. Guess what? It’s inexpensive and who cares if you ding it. The more dings, the more vibe, and the more and more it plays like an original.

Awesome work @jeffreypang911 and @unklesteve

Fun non related Peak story: I bought a Maple Drip Peak a long time ago. Absolutely loved it. It was back in the yoyo action days and if you know me, I love trading to try new things and won’t let myself get attached to anything except things that aren’t material (because that can’t be taken from you from anyone but yourself.)

So I traded it like a dummy. That was like 12 years ago. I then had a friend sell me his Gold Nugget Peak 2 years ago, which ironically was modded by Jeffrey Pang to take hubstacks. USPS lost it. Not gonna lie, it sucked, but again, it only sucked as much as I allowed it to, and I was able to let go.

I say all of this to say, I had pretty much given up on the Peak hunt. This Plastic Peak has scratched that itch in just a few hours that the Maple Drip Peak created years ago. Don’t spend a ton of money on one of the old Peaks. But one of these, save your cash, and who knows what Steve has in store for the Peak 3. For anyone that wishes we would have gotten the flashy colors instead of the solid colors, get a white one and have it died, or wait for the Peak 3 which will likely come in some iconic colorways.

For those High Wall, Organic, responsive loving boomers. This Pleak with a Half spec bearing and shorter axel is a Fun Player.

I was tempted to get one but some people said it lacks spin / power and I forget what else. I’m sure for a thrower much more capable than I am such as yourself it’s awesome.

I never even thought to do a half spec, thank you @Pun1sh3R

And @ChrisFrancz , thank you for the kind words, I grew up on a plastic Duncan Butterfly, so anything sleeps forever compared to that

I bet the wheel bearings in your car are half spec too.

Ill have to look into that…

Lol, I really can’t catch a break. I dropped it, slipped from my hand while changing the string, and it’s broke.

I formally am saying good buy to my relationship with the Peak. It is a great yoyo, but apparently I am not intended to have a relationship with it.

I guess I will pursue a FH1, lol

@jeffreypang911 needs to see this carnage :cut_of_meat:

@yoyospirit could it even be saved ? Modded?

I’d be glueing that up with very small dab of 2 part adhesive, correctly aligning the break to its original position, and play on.
But with your luck… my advice would probably make the 2 part glue melt the yo in some weird way
Wasn’t meant to be 4 u.
