OVERrated yoyos

well the guy pulled out and said he was offering a MIB Beef and St. eel…

:<

I agree. I was one of those that hated them but I’ve never said there yoyo’s are junk or anything like that. I just stated that I didn’t like “most” of them.

Anti-yo.

Not saying they suck. Just saying. They are the kings of Hype. I know a guy (not personally) who gave up 8 metals (the majority being CLYW) for a BPZL.

DV888.

It honestly felt like a brick on a string to me. Balance was weird, Odd feel in the hand, its amazing to me that kids go crazy for it,

For that price range, the Hspin Icon would be a much better choice in my opinion. Smooth, nice, floaty.

That’s where preference comes in. I think the Icon was a piece of junk while I loved the DV888. I"m not a kid either. The balance on the dv888 was spot on for me. Didn’t quite feel like a brick but it was heavy on the string though.

I have mixed feelings on the DV888. It was my first metal. I love it to death but don’t play it that often for 1a. I really enjoy it for 5a however. It is quite a yoyo for the price.

Hipsters hate on yyf.
hating on yoyofactory is become too mainstream?
WAT WILL WE DO c:

but there are lots of overrated yoyoyfactory yoyos…i’ve had lots… so i know. and people started worshipping gen-yos like they are gods… they are great; I’ll admit that. but not THAT good!
overpriced yoyos are ovverated, and mint yoyos… a beat yoyo can be just as good

yoyofactory is hyped but why, its because of what they do for the community
I mean Who else releases tons of amazing new yoyos every month? Who else puts out amazing plastic yoyos that play as well if not better than many metals? Who else puts out yoyos in every shape, size and weight for people to find their preference?

Ps Alot of people are saying that you cant use anything but yyf if you are on the team but ben posted on his fb the rextreme by YOYOJAM was his favorite 4a yoyo

Thats just 2 pennies

I can’t say I have any hate for YYF. I have a Mightly Flea(that I can’t really throw yet properly) and a ONE, which I enjoy, and I have a few more YYF purchases planned.

I also really enjoy my YYJ Dark Magic II, which is currently my favorite of my very small collection and my main yoyo. I also have my eye on some other YYJ models to add to my collection.

(My collection will include many yoyos included for example/demonstration purposes, that may have unique features, just to give kids exposure to the yoyo being more exciting than a just a simple toy. Of course, my skills also need to improve, but I can work on that on my own.)

This just sort of reminds me of when musicians and bands are struggling and fighting to make it, they are “keeping it real” and “in touch with their fans” and “paying their dues” and then when they get signed to a major label, then their fans say “They sold out”. Guess what folks, that’s what they were working for the WHOLE TIME! It ain’t selling out, it’s called “earning it”.

Back to yoyos.

Doesn’t matter how little or over-hyped a yoyo is. If it’s not the item suited for an individual, it might as well just be a piece of junk, regardless of price. Even if it’s a considered a “piece of crap” by many but some player finds it’s perfect or them, then who cares about the negativity.

I’m not qualified to say what IS good or what ISN’T good. I am qualified to say what I like and what I don’t like. I wish there were more places around where I live that sold better yoyos other than what the local Toys R Us offers. I’d like to try before I buy. But I can’t. I have to unfortunately rely on the hype, but also the reviews of experts and “regular folks” to figure out what I should or shouldn’t get.

Don’t ever believe the hype. Find out the truth for yourself. Just keep it real and keep it fun. Aren’t most of the people into yoyos doing because they are enjoying it? Isn’t that what this is supposed to be about in the first place? Having fun?

soooooooo true…never had one that didn’t suck as a throw…very pretty…great paper weight…bad yoyo

Hahaha, that should be Anti-Yo’s official slogan.

“Anti-Yo… Very Pretty… Great Paperweight… Bad Yo-Yo.”

I could say the Pocket Change, but I don’t Know if itd be over rated because its not rated very high anyway. I tried to do the wrist whip and i missed and it hit the floor (not very hard mind you) and it cracked and was rendered unusable.

protostar is very good. I had one and it lasted for about three months. Don’t say it sucks, I just bang it up a lot. If you get a protostar it will last about 10-12 months about a year.

      GET A PROTOSTAR NW!!!!!!!!

I’m starting to think I must have gotten a defective Icon, because like I said, mine was terribly wobbly and tug responsive, and nothing would fix it. I would really like to try the kind of Icon that everyone adores, because mine fails miserably. The Dv888 for me was an OK yoyo, still overrated, but not much so because it still performs well.

I don’t personally understand the hate for yyf. They’re good throws.

But just gonna list a few I’ve used that I think are overrated:

Aquarius
Boss
glownasty (I dunno why. I really liked my dienasty, but when I threw a glownasty I didn’t like it.)

yyr

eeeh That is a matter of opinion. lol

I totally agree with everything else ;D

Which ones have you played? (genuine interest, not sarcasm)

It’s not rating, it’s the value, is it worth what it costs. There isn’t a bad yoyo, just a bad price.

IMO, anything YYF. ;D
