New release from Markmont. - The Markmont. Classic Magnum Opus!

Mine is sooooooo smoooooth, it gives me VibešŸ™€

ā€¦Something to try. Dismantle the yoyo. Unscrew the yoyo and pop out the side effects. Pop em completely out. Push them out with your thumb but at the same time, control the side effect with your other hand. Make an effort to rotate the side effect or the yoyo half before you press the effects back in.

Sounds sorta silly at first. Because One Drop does a superb of cutting everything pretty much Dead Center. That is just the way it works, when you do everything pretty much in house(machining) and your equipment is kept in top shape. So, logic would dictate that every single yoyo should spin flawlessly perfect.

Well, with anything that is manufactured, there is always a possibility that something will come out funny. And not surprising that once in a while a funny one will get shipped. And when the mailman delivers the package to the proper address. It will most certainly be on ā€˜your porchā€™.

Anyways, I digress.

Change the position of the effectsā€¦ reassemble the yoyo halves. Screw them together until you meet pretty strong resistance. And then, screw the yoyo together just a little bit more.

The MMC shape yields a very low probability of vibe simply by nature of the design/weight distribution and precision machine work.

Mine is pretty much the same, definite fingervibe, but I donā€™t really notice it on the string. I got one with the black ultralight SEs, so maybe its just the ones with ultra light SEs for some reason? Regardless its one of my favorites right now, just not as smooth as I would expect.

Is this just a long-winded and diplomatic way to say that there are quality-control issues with this yo-yo? Seems like more than a few people are bringing up problems with bearings and overall yo-yo quality. Are those problems being addressed? Marketing and personalities do not excuse a poor-quality product.

I took it as him saying that folks should try to ā€œtuneā€ out the vibe because it shouldnā€™t be an issue with this particular model.

In reference to the last sentence, no need to be nasty and suggestive being that Iā€™m fully accessible on a plethora of channels.

As far as quality control, a lot can happen in transit from the west coast to the east coast and then to buyer. As a means to slim the amount of instances that yield minor vibe (which is and always remains tune-out-able), we will be transitioning to a thicker stuffed box to cut down on package shake.

Also yes, any instances of nuisance that feel in excess contrast to cost paid (too much vibe) can always be met with a refund from the vendor, a personal tuning from the original manufacturer (Markmont. Shop), or legit throw swap from my personal collection with me covering shipping. All doable via email swiftly and easily.

Please donā€™t put suggestive statements out against me nor my brand. Will and I work too hard and are willing to accommodate too much to be receiving statements like you made. Itā€™s not appreciated.

The Opus is hands down the most fun organic yoyo Iā€™ve thrown since getting back into throwing. Itā€™s so much fun i might consider competing with it because itā€™s got such great spin and responds to my hand before i realize i made a adjustment. This thing is dope! Itā€™s a keeper in my collection for sure.

Being 7075 and OD I would have thought this was a GZR edition? Guess not? Iā€™m lost, as usual.

My understanding is itā€™s made by One Drop but not a One Drop throw, rather the brand being ā€œMarkmont.ā€. Itā€™s like how the FYFO is made by One Drop but itā€™s a YoYoRecreation throw, or how One Drop used to manufacture for CLYW.

This is correct. One Drop machines but Markmont handles everything else. This is his brand.

Remind Geezer there that yaā€™ll handle the assembly as well yeah? Keep in mind though that complaints about OneDrop(justified or not) are like viagra for that dude.

Hey guys!
I just returned to yoyo after a giant hiatus, to be honest, I stopped in 2005, at that moment our countryman Rafael Matsunaga no longer appeared on the streets to play, at least not the ones I frequented. Added to that, buying quality yo-yos was a very difficult thing, not only because of the bureaucratic side of it, but also because at the time I was just a boy, without a job. Things have changed =], and I didnā€™t have time to guarantee my classic markmont magnum opus, I hope there will be a next batch soon, and the concept of thicker boxes, especially for international shipping, itā€™s a must. 100% Support!! I look forward to the next batch, one drop. Brazilian Greetings!

Iā€™m jelous, but also happy that you could get this one.

At first I thought I didnā€™t have another pair of SEs to try, but I just now remembered my Deep State! Swapped out the spike SEs and my magnum opus went from like 4/10 smooth to 8/10 smooth. Woohoo!

Good to know! its probably something to do with slightly more center weight or something, Iā€™ll definitely pick up a set of spikes in my next buy.

Mine arrived this morning (Iā€™m in the UK)ā€¦ Oh boiz, itā€™s so smooth, itā€™s flawless and a true classic. I got the orange and twas a little apprehensive when I bought it, but itā€™s the colour of my favourite cider so Iā€™m sold and super happy. ty YYE for a well packed delivery, always worry this side of the pond. Well Iā€™m off to throw. Just got to wear in the bearing and warm the pads up. Wonā€™t take long, you wonā€™t pry this from my hands today
Big up to Markmontā€¦& thank you to all involved.
