New player looking for some guidance

I’m a new player. I have two freehands that I’ve been throwing for about a week now. I’d like to get something better but really have no clue as to what. I’d like to be learning 5a style stuff and have been practicing what I can. I’ve browsed through the forums and know that there’s a list of questions, but I just don’t have enough experience to answer.

Can anyone help me out? Or give me some direction?

Thanks for the reply. I’ll have to check it out. I’ve also been looking at the legacy, the protostar and the dark magic. Any thoughts?

I personally have the velocity and if you already have two freehands you do NOT need the velocity. And if you can bind, you definitly want a protostar.

Since my pads wore out, all I’ve been practicing is binds.

i dont think you should move to high end metals yet so id say… legacy? maybe dm…

Man I hate it when someone tells someone else how to spend their money.

If it requires a bind, there is no difference between a high end metal and a legacy. I can pull off anything on both.

Legacy or protostar are great choices. DM is a big yoyo. Not huge but pretty large as far as yoyo’s go. I’d suggest not getting that due to the hybrid response. It will drive you crazy and then you’ll want to get it modded.

I just pulled the trigger and have a protostar and an m1 on the way.

well i didnt mean it as a money problem. i just didnt want him to buy something like a c13 and have it seriously vibed from dents.

I got the m1 because I know I’ll eventually want one and since they’re not made any more I got it while I could. I think the protostar will be my main throw for awhile.
