I really hope this doesn’t turn into another Firehawk and Featherhawk flop…

I’m told that the first test run turned out vibey, so there will be a production delay while they solve the problem.

I don’t even have one yet, and I know where Augie sleeps ha ha.

Well the problem is that they’re not titanium or some other exotic stuff and don’t cost at least $200.

Exactly.

Would anyone really want a Ti Freehand? It didn’t seem like people jumped on the Aluminum one.

I dig the shape and art so I hope that I like how it plays. It could really be the new fh1 if they do it right.

The magnesium one did fairly well considering the price point.

They might as well make a Ti Barracuda if anything.

I just got a light up freehand zero. I’m kind of disappointed with it, mainly because of the bad spin time, and it being way to light for my taste, and most tricks.

Your favorite yoyo’s a scout ::slight_smile:

FHZ’s are pretty much only supposed to be fun. The spin time should be enough. (You might have to clean the bearing.)

Whats wrong with the Scout?

Nothing is wrong with the scout, what someone is trying to say is that it’s a lot different than the scout and that you were expecting the fhz to play a lot better because of being used to throwing a scout. I mean the fhz came out in 2004.

Oh.

Probably because its not a Freehand. C bearing + slim groove response?

They made their $19 yoyo into a $115 yoyo by turning it out of a material they themselves sell yoyos of for $25. Why should we buy that?

In the right hands(Shinobu), a titanium Freehand would be tits.

I am super excited to add this one to my little FHZ collection! I looks cool… I really want to see Kyle’s rounded off, organic mod new FHZ! :o

My light up FHZ is the best playing, out of the package, FHZ that I have had…
Give it another chance

Add weight rings, fat o-rings work well, although with the light mechanism there may not be room under the caps.

70 grahms is too light for you? What throw do you use that is more than that?

I believe he is talking about the lack of rim weight, or I rather say, modern yoyos have too much rim weight it spoils people who wanted to try older throws because suddenly they don’t spin long, tilty, and are difficult to use. While with modern yoyos my grandma can do trapeze on the first try, well not quite but you get the idea.
Can’t blame them though.

Exactly.

They say that the best products pay homage to the past while harkening to the future.

I kept this idea in mind while working on the new Freehand.

I didn’t want to rerelease the exact same shape with an updated response system and new bearing. The Freehand 1 was legendary for a reason. Bold and innovative, yet with a shape so instantly classic it felt as comfortable as grandma’s cookies on a warm Saturday afternoon.

First, we had to pay tribute to the past. We thought about different cap designs, or even abandoning the cap altogether. Nope, couldn’t do it. It still has to be the Freehand. The clean, curved lines of the original cap are close to perfection. We kept the cap in identical form.

For the body, we wanted a change, but we didn’t want to go extreme. Curved profile with small steps give a futuristic touch while still feeling as gentle and smooth in the hand as anything you’ve ever played.

First run is limited to 200 units. One hundred each, Blue and Green with all white dice with no pips. The Blue will be given to Team Duncan, friends and family, and legendary 5A players. The Green will be sold.

All 200 were hand-assembled and tuned by Team Duncan at 3:00 am on California. Really something special.

The Freehand Yoyo and the Freehand division are both overdue for a change. This is it.
