Glad to hear you picked something up and you like it! Give the pads some time to break it, usually helps.

Enjoy!

Did you try different strings? Maybe that might help.

You’ll be back. They all come back.

I don’t think I would be able to take the questioning.

I know what you mean.

Sometimes you just have to play a yo-yo for an hour and immediately make an Extreme judgement like that. ‘Never buying plastic again’.

You try one metal yoyo and then totally shut off any possibility of any plastic yoyo being worth. Using/playing

I get it
.

Why, just the other day, I bought a yo-yo made out of Chocolate chip cookies. I made the mistake of lubing it with a glass of milk and the sucker didn’t even last a minute.

Edible yo-yos? Never again!

Could be your reaction when you upgrade to a 7075/7068 yoyo. And once again when you upgrade to a bi-metal. So many good stuff out there to stuck to one type of throw. Highly suggest you look up the Shooting Star, First Base, PLSTC, Antidote, Atom Smasher and my personal plastic of choice, the Speedaholic XX. It’s nice to have a little perspective

I have to fight this myself. I have a Legendary Terrarian, MCMO, Diorama, Spyglass, and a Stoopid. I’m a huge fan of 70-series aluminum for yo-yos. But there are other 6061 yo-yos that I really like too. Weekender, Daytripper, Horizon. I also really like the Delrin (POM) BoltXP. Depends on what you’re looking for.

i’d be lying if i said i didnt prefer all my 70 series throws to my 60 series ones, almost purely from the mental aspect of 70 series being “better” which i know its not, its just different lol

My iceberg is rolling on the floor laughing at this statement.

The other caveats to my opinions are:

  1. I haven’t ever thrown two yoyos that were made in both 7075 and 6061.
  2. Even if I had, I doubt very much that I would be able to perceive the difference, or describe it.
  3. At this point, I’m working really hard to not have a large collection.

I mean, I’m kind of trying to decide whether I really need to keep an Orbital GTX and a Horizon. I mean, they’re both competition-oriented rim-weighted yoyos, right? I’m not saying they’re the same, or that there isn’t a difference, or that there isn’t a significant difference.

I have an El Mijo and an El Mijo 6061 and let me tell you, one of them is black and the other is blue. One of them also has 6061 added to the engraving.

the journey begins.

i feel you, man. Some of my favorites are 70-series aluminums. Koi for the organic side and the Top Deck for pure performance. And for plastics I used to think delrin is king up until I got the Speedaholic. Some throws really will surprise you regardless of material!

So you are saying the 6061 is far far inferior, and should never be bothered with.

Got it. Thanks!

You’ve never tried the Da Capo or the Punk. Might change your opinion.

Does anyone generally prefer plastic over metal? I personally prefer metal as it seems I get more of an enjoyable experience with metal but if I want plastic I prefer the Replay of which I have two for responsive and un.

My fiancĂ© says I can’t play with any metal yo-yos for the week before the wedding
she doesn’t know how good my speedaholic is or how much I like fixed axle play

I wonder if this guy ever switched back to plastic?
