Hopefully this can reach a few more people than it has posted on our facebook. Anyone that can help immediately via paypal or sending items please message me here and I can give you any info you need.
For those who have not heard yet Pyrotechnic and I are expecting a baby boy in roughly 6 weeks(ideally). Realistically we have to be ready within 4 or less.
Just over 2 weeks ago Pyro lost his job that was supporting us, the reason given really should just be called the tip of the iceberg of the entire problem.
He’s invested a lot of time and energy into a business just to be treated like crap and threatened again and again over the last 3 years. The business would literally fail if he didn’t work there at all, hence why he’s still depended on to work there a few hours a week. Once we no longer need the money he’ll just quit all together and can finally be free from being taken advantage of… to put it lightly. Some of you know who he’s working for/the shop’s name, but please do not bring that up for our safety.
He’s been lucky enough to find a new job quickly which should be a better situation for us in the long run, but right now we’ve got weeks to wait on even a first paycheck that we will have to save every bit of for another month’s rent. Basically we’re broke and without some help soon could be homeless, not where we want to be with a baby on the way.
We’ve had some friends and family say they are willing to help us over the last month, least buying some items for the baby. But none of them seem to grasp the urgency of our situation. We’re happy that we will have some help in the near future. But there’s just too much at stake here in a short amount of time to be waiting on things without any sort of certainty.
Well as of yesterday Pyrotechnic officially is quitting his old job and cutting ties to the business completely. Still haven’t had all the help promised from our families or any donations…
I couldn’t even begin to explain how tough things have been for us, we won’t be able to apply for insurance or other assistance until next week at the earliest, which is also the week I reach 38 weeks, meaning I might go into labor anywhere from next week to mid October. We really need at least 2 weeks to even get the things we still need, let alone that doesn’t mean we have the money for them. We plan to overdraft our account to pay rent at this point, so we’ll probably get money then to also buy the things we need.
The problems of a limited income are starting to become apparent as my pain and strains have increased in these last weeks. I’ll be down 50 pounds this year total around a month after I have the baby(and probably will continue to lose more after that even). To say the least it’s a health concern to some degree as to how well I’ll be able to recover afterwards. Luckily our baby is always on track or ahead with growth so we’re hopeful he’s not going to have any issues as far as weight and health.
Bump(even though no one has even made effort to contact us so far…)
Getting down to less than a week until due date. Last normal appointment will be on the 6th. Got insurance for myself and the baby covered thankfully.
We’ve managed to get our list down to things that we won’t need until we are home from the hospital.
Pyrotechnic’s birthday was yesterday, probably the only birthday since we’ve been together that I wasn’t able to get him really any sort of gift, but I did manage to make some brownies(from scratch) since we’re receiving food stamps now.
We got a loan from my parents to help make sure his paycheck covered rent and have emergency funds for anything the baby might need. They are awesome, he even says they’ve become more so parents to him than his own ever were. He even got a gift card from my mom yesterday(that we’ll probably also end up using to get stuff for the baby), and called both her and his own mom… mine actually answered
Well, last week right on schedule he arrived October 7th. I had my doctor’s appointment the morning of the 6th and even signed approval for induction on the 13th. I’d had maybe less than an hour of contractions that day around 2am and again at 3pm so figured they were nothing. About 10pm though it started again and I kind of more so out of curiousity timed them. They were already 2-4 minutes apart and the class I took said around 5 minutes apart was when to head to the hospital, still… I kind of denied it, plus felt fine. Before 1am though things were obviously not slowing down, and I literally couldn’t even move, let alone thought I was going to make it to the car to get the hospital. We arrived at the hospital close to 2am and he was in my arms at 4:35am.
We are still trying to get things we need and found out that we won’t get more food stamps until November, so had to borrow money just to keep the fridge stocked, luckily now that he’s here at least my parents are helping when they can. But Pyro’s family says they can’t at all.
