Awesome, I don’t play a sax but I love the sound of one when used properly. I used to really be into ska and always loved the alto-sax. Or this band called Morphine. If you like sax and haven’t heard of them, check em out. The singer died onstage a long time ago from a heart attack, so they aren’t making music anymore. I recommend starting with the albums, “A Cure for Pain” & “The Night”. The band consists of, drums, sax and bass/vocals, very original. (Their music is pretty somber, so it’s not for everyone)

That’s actually the last person I wanna think of myself as. (and yes, I do actively avoid that thought)

Guys, there’s great news - I learned how to play careless whisper correctly. I figured out that if you play really loud, then you can play high notes professionally. I really want to learn how to growl, so if a saxophone player sees this, could you give me some tips?

I’m listening to Night right now and I would compare it to a mix of old Metallica and Moondog. Very nice. The right relaxing tune to throw some sloppy sidewinder.

Man you did it! Now your already a way better sax-player, than a 100% of all people…

… who have not bought a sax.

Growling is a combination of humming and playing the note. Also focus on good tone not just belting out notes! Control is key  Congrats on picking up saxophone, its a fantastic instrument.

I have 3 atm, 2 tenors and an Alto, but have switched to learning guitar for the time being.

My rendition of the Super Smash Bros. Brawl theme (from what I can play so far)
