I don’t own one yet, but I recently tried the Mowl Q. It’s great! Is there a specific organic or series that inspired the Q?
Are there any design ideas that you had that were simply too crazy to work into a real yoyo? If so, what were they?
Keep forgetting to post in here.
I’m a huge Mowl collector, been playing with this obsession+ more lately.
Any new smaller/undersized yoyos coming up?
And besides Mowl, what is your favorite yoyo company?
what material is the easiest to make yoyos with? I’ve seen mowl aluminum mono meals, titaniums, bi metals, bi plastics, hybrids
I’ve been wanting to ask these for a long time…

Throws from Mowl seem to fall into two categories, they are either quite heavy (> 65.5 g) or quite light (< 63g like the Q & hybrid). Is there a reason for this? Any plan to make something between 63 ~ 64 g for speed plays?

What’s your secret of designing the response system? The throws I have all feel smooth during play but provides a pretty reliable & satisfying bind.
That’s because Mowl’s most popular yoyo to date is the Surveillance, so the eye represents the meaning of the word, as it is always watching you. Other yoyos that have come out like the Vigilancia (monometal Surveillance) are related to the Surveillance and thus also sport the eye.
Why did you guys pick an owl for your mascot?
What event do you think contributed the most to the meteoric rise of your brand?
Will you do another drop of the Titanium Surveillance?
That question has been answered already.
Doesn’t the Surveil you have fit the bill? It’s 63.5g and is very capable for speed play.
I decided that using owl as brands logo at first because I generally like owls since I was a kid, and there was no yoyo brands that use animal as company’s logo
do you have plans to restock the Q in the near future? I’ve been wanting one for a while now and would like the opportunity to grab one!
As for the M, it is heavily influenced by the OG YYF Genesis.
This is because of my roots in the YYF, which I originally loved during the time I was sponsored by YYF.
It is in part a tribute to the Yo-Yo Factory.
In Japan, there is a quote called “Onkotishin”.
It means that developing new ideas based on study of the past.
I love this quote so much, and I sometimes produce good old yo-yos with modern technology.
Will we see another run of the heterogeneity soon?
It’s kind of a tough question.
It depends on the terms of the contract with the affiliated factory.
There are two main types of models that we want to sell off immediately and sell over time.
We basically don’t reproduce the same product with the same color and same logo.
Regarding sandwiches, I like BLT the best haha.
Other companies now often use colored rims, but when the first Surveillance was released, there were very few yo-yos with colored rims on the market, and I was very happy when I got a sample. Even now, my favorite color is Dark Green / Polished Black Rim, which is mowl’s corporate color.
We are currently exploring new anodized aluminum at color factory in Osaka to see if we can create something different. We are planning to sell a new color that people never seen anything like it before.
model that in the summer, so please look forward to it!
The fun part of the design process is meeting with the designer.
It is a privilege and the most exciting time for us as a brand operator when we receive the prototypes we have worked so hard on and the finished products and open the package.
The most difficult point is how to express the presence of mowl yo-yos in a market where various yo-yos are already available from yo-yo brands around the world.
Immediately after mowl was launched in 2016, some of my good friends and family who are not yo-yo players told me, “Yo-yo makers don’t make any money, so maybe you should quit.” I was questioned about it.However, while keeping passion for the work and continuing to produce our products, friends and family are in a supportive situation.
I believe that if you continue with passion, you will find the answer! Let’s be passionate about it!
Yo-yo has enriched my life.
When I was in high school, I studied abroad in Hawaii for a year. At the time, I couldn’t speak English at all, but I was able to make friends through yo-yoing. In addition to the U.S., I was able to have many good experiences in European and Asian countries, and I believe that the yo-yo is not just a toy, but also one of the tools for communication.
Even if I go to an unfamiliar country, there are yo-yo players in almost every country, so it is one of my hobbies to communicate with local yo-yo players.
It is difficult to travel now, but I am looking forward to visiting many places in the next few years.
I would like to go to the U.S. for the first time in a long time ^^.
