Mowl Forum Chat AMA and GIVEAWAY Fri to Tue (4/15 to 4/19)!

I love these opportunities to hear from creators  thanks for doing this!

I’ve heard many praises for Mowl yoyos but haven’t gotten a chance to play one yet. Which Mowl yoyo are you most fond of? Doesn’t have to be the most popular or most performance, but which speaks to you?

Just a simple question really, was the Mowl M inspired by older H profiles like the OG YYF Genesis and the likes? Do you ever consider older models you played further in the past when considering new designs?

When you know a throw is going to be popular, as many (if not all) Mowls are, what do you use to determine the run size? Why would you make 100 instead of 200 for example?

Are there any future plans to do Re-releases with different engravings/colors?

What’s your favorite sandwich? ← I needed a third question…

Love that you all make unique thoughtfully priced throws (Q) and aren’t afraid to put out a bright yellow throw (Flex, new ones rims).

Least favorite colorway you’ve produced?

Any type of finish or anodizing you’re looking forward to or would like to revisit (e.g. nickel)?

Here is the story behind the development of the Surveillance.

About 1st Surveillance

The concept when developing this surveillance was to produce “a yo-yo with a bimetal structure that is also easy to control.” A yo-yo that kept the rotational force peculiar to bimetal and could give as much speed as needed, and could be stop or keep on going pretty quickly when adjusting strength of the trick.

While we were discussing the direction on which we wanted to take the newer version, we were also thinking, how we could change the aluminum material without making any major changes to neither the shape nor to the face. And with some refinement here we are!

We adopted a “Thumb Grinding” spot to make it easier to control the yo-yo, being able to control it without the center of gravity moving but only the outer circumference, and the spot for thumb grind allows you to grab the yo-yo, hook your finger, and expand the range of play.

And to give a margin to the length of the shaft, an extension is made in the center of the face to improve the durability of the yo-yo.

As a result of research to make the surveillance easy to grind, it has become an H profile shape.

The direct line is neither too big nor too small, and it was designed with attention so that anyone can hold it with ease.

The H-profile shape, which is a straight shape with a deeply hollowed edge, made it possible to create a yo-yo that is extremely satisfying with its undisputed rotational force.

About updated surveillance

While developing prototypes several times in 2019, we could clearly feel that “surveillance has evolved” from the moment we picked it up, so we decided to release it.

The current 2nd model is the result of many trials and errors and meetings. We made an updated model for the first time.We made it with the desire to surely keep the good points and to attract the big changes

Change weight balance
By adopting new metal, the face surface has been slightly changed from the 1st model. By adopting new weight balance and new metal, the performance has been greatly improved compared to the 1st model.

We are not directly involved with Fistsalud now , so I am sorry but we cannot explain from us.
Could you ask them if you can?

Sorry if this is a repeat question but how did you come up with the name mowl for the yo-yo company?

Also who would win in a fight …. A kangaroo or a giraffe ?

I’ve been inspired by nature when deciding on color ways.
Our management members like camping so we go camping and take pictures while relaxing in nature.

We’re really glad you like mowl Product!
We sometimes dare not to put our logo on our products, such as Q. Basically, our policy of doing something different from other brands haven’t changed yet.
Even now.

It is very difficult to choose one yo-yo that I like the most!
Today was my day off and before I left home I picked up Surveil’s Osaka Skyline Edition. I pick a yo-yo that fits my mood each day and spend every day with my favorite yo-yo, just like my sneakers and T-shirts.https://

I mostly like mono metal yo-yo more than bi metal because I focus on feeling more than stability. However, I wanted a yo-yo that had the feel of monometal, but had the spinning power like bimetal.

That was the begging of Heterogeneity.

Thank you for asking the question about “Hererogeneity”!

Last question, did your friends and family initially support you and your dreams of passion work? How did you work past others doubts and unsure feelings? Do you have any inspirational words to give others or people in the community

Do you have any memorable experiences where you’ve been traveling abroad, and yoyo has created a mutual language with a stranger?

If owls represent good luck charms in Japan, could we expect to see any four-leaf clovers as a future design? I already love how the current dark green Surveillance pops :four_leaf_clover:
