Morning Run

Any other runners here? As someone who’s fairly active but wanted to build up more endurance I wanted to start trail running a couple mornings a week. Today was my first day and if anyone wants to join me or already runs on the regular post your runs below!

I used to run a ton, I think at my max I was doing a half marathon every weekend.

Unfortunately got an injury and now I just bike ride.

You’re in for a great treat, trail running is fantastic!!!

I have been thinking for a few weeks that I should get back into running. Maybe this post is a sign.

Do it!

Done!

It was the perfect weather for a run. I wish I had a trail within walking distance.

I start every day with a morning run. When I get a chance I’ll measure the distance from my bed to the bathroom, and then I’ll post my stats.

I ran three days a week for probably 20 years, but like Bobparty, an injury has I think put an end to that, sadly. I liked running because it was the most efficient exercise (for me).

I have been an active person most of my life rotating every few years with the emphasis changing in what type of exercise I will do the majority of the time.
Running, Biking. Calisthenics and the Gym. I have Running and Biking being the majority of the workouts over my life to my great benefit.

I too am in a down mode with exercise because of life excuses and I need to make a change soon.

Thank you for the motivation

Will be posting soon

Awesome!

It’s certainly a blast. Unfortunately, it’s also one of the quickest ways to obliterate your joints. Can’t say I recommend.

I can’t really run anymore.

Me Achilles tendons are toast, my knees are awful.

However it was well worth it, I had a blast in my prime - the feeling of being able to blast out a half with no issue is just grade a bad a** feeling.

Now I’m old and just ride a bike lol

It was not a Morning Run… but it was a 5k run. I went out too fast ended too slow. When I train it is better than this.
1st mile 7:15
2nd mile 7:58
3rd mile 9:23
Average heart rate 148 max 170 max VO2 was 53
My best over 45 year old 5k was 20:05 I am always trying to get as close to that as possible it is going to be a longer than normal journey this year to even close.

I do some running and have a regular 5k loop. Done a few half marathons and stuff but not serious about it. My son is an elite hs runner and it’s only moderately depressing to have watched him get so much faster than me.

I’m on the Strava.

Forgot to post my run from yesterday morning. A bit slower, but I added an uphill.

Usually, I get injured from doing too much too soon after a break, so I am sticking with (roughly) 20-minute runs for the month of June. My goal is to get comfortable for a Turkey Trot 5k in November. It was my first race, and several family members like to run it when we are together for the holiday.

Awesome! And nothing wrong with starting slow!

I haven’t been running this week because I’ve been pruning and cleaning up orchards at work and I’ve been taking over 20 thousand steps each day and walking 10+ miles. Figured I’d take it easy on my legs lol.
Planning on getting into running 2-3 days a week next week though

I am also a swimmer. I’m on a masters swim team and do coached workouts 2x per week.

I get my running in playing Ultimate.
