I haven’t tried it with this particular bearing size but years ago I used needle nosed pliers. Put a piece of thicker cloth over the bearing and use the rounded out parts of the needle nose to grip the bearing. Gently rock back and forth until the bearing comes free.
Again, I haven’t tried this on this size bearing… it may be too small of a diameter for the rounded part of the needle nose to work.
I’ll try that but I fear the result will be the same. As Mark mentioned, D-bearing pullers will work. The MR85 bearing they used, and D bearings (and A-bearings for that matter) all have the same 5mm inner diameter.
Might not be the most elegant solution but the bearing pulls out easily with pliers for me, it doesn’t take much force, so just anything that can at least get a grip on it should be fine. I used a scrunchie to avoid scratching the yoyo/bearing.
Beautiful, thanks. I hadnt thought of that method to grab the bearing before (ive always attempted to grab around it.). This leaves much less risk of damaging the ano around the bearing seat.
I just got my RBC in the YYE colorway a few minutes ago. I’m really digging it, definitely right up there with the day tripper and the respawn lite for my favorite 0A yoyo. I find the weight and balance to be really nice, its response works exactly how I want it to for 0A, and I’m very impressed by how well it loops. The dimples on this one are even more fun than on my wooden RBC.
No joke, I think this yoyo is a game-changer. This yoyo is the first instance of any metal yoyo ive tried that truly feels natural in 0A play. While the Daytripper might be the Draupnir of modern responsive yoyos, this is the organic alternative. Trapeze stalls, dump trucks, kickflips, etc all feel like im performing them on a fixie version, but smoother and easier on the spin (because of the bearing response). It is just a joy to play with, and feels the same as the wood version ive come to love (just smoother).
Hopefully mine will be here soon then. Never had a package from yoyoexpert take more than 5 days. I’ve been really lucky with shipping the last year or so and not had any issues. Guess it’s just my turn.
