Could you please bring a few to the Meetup?
Does it kick back horribly, or are we all so used to these wide gaps by now, that it feels normal?
I’ll bring a fistful of bearings. Should we get a facebook event up?
It feels abnormal but not horribly so. 2x 2.5 means the gap is around 4.8mm, but the tiny bearing diameter is what does it.

Finally got the 3mm bearing into one of my RBC’s. So far I feel the difference more in my hand and in stalls than I do in play. I’ve spent more time with this yoyo in my hand than any other, and the gap being half a millimeter wider makes a way bigger difference in hand feel than I anticipated lol. The slightly wider gap also means more room for string, which makes controlling regens and tricks coming out of stalls just a little bit easier.
I think this one is significantly more greased than the 2.5mm bearing it came with, so I’m sure it will loosen up in time just like the stock one did. I have about the same amount of difficulty doing boingy boing with the 3mm bearing as the 2.5mm one, but again my 2.5mm one has loosened up considerably.
I think what really impressed me the most here was the condition of the pads. After weeks of aggressive moon shooting and even some attempts to learn 2A, the pads still look close to new.
Beefcaked = Think double hamburger.
Back when I taught middle school science we described a hotdog fold or a hamburger fold.
If anyone wants an MR85, 3mm wide bearing for the cost of a priority, or first class envelope let me know. I’ve been playing one 3mm, one 2.5mm, and I honestly prefer the dry 2.5mm to the 3mm as they’re loosening up. sadly I cant send a bearing in a standard postage envelope, I already tried lolol
Hey y’all I have a few questions for some rbc maintenance. And btw and I appreciate all of your answers thanks
(1) what strings works best for the rbc besides the ots string that was included. I have some first class kitty normal and it seems to be working pretty well but I wonder if you guys have some other suggestions.
(2) is the rbc easy to put back together ?? I haven’t taken mine apart yet cause I’m scared that I might strip the axel and the bearing seat.
(3) I might have mentioned this before but does the 3mm bearing differ from the 2.5mm bearing?? And does it make the yo-yo a tad less responsive or does it maintain its snappy response while opening the gap a bit
-
I’m using Alphaline, but string is very subjective.
-
The RBC is really easy to take apart and put back together. Its machined beautifully, threads are very smooth and the bearing seat isn’t overly tight. The RBC is 7068, which is crazy strong aluminum, and the axle is very long so chances of stripping are very low.

The yoyo is a little bit less snappy but still reliably responsive, but mostly it allows for more room for 1a style tricks.
Thanks so much !!! Those answers brought me some relief (especially 2 lol ) but thanks again
Couldn’t get any response when I put a YYSL Ammo.
Switched to a G-strings Solo and it was immediately snappy again.
Makes me wonder if folks who had to lube the bearing already might have changed to a string type that just wasn’t responding.
Wow that’s surprising, since YYSL Ammo is one of the thickest strings out there. I’d think it’ll be way too responsive for the RBC.
So did I. I couldn’t even get a engineer’s wind going.
It’s possible it may have been a fluke.
Since the bearing is so small, I wonder if some strings might resist winding up when the string is new?
I’ve experienced that with fixed axles. I’ve had to do binds or manual winds until the string gets broken in, and then it works fine.
Yeah my go to for a loose new string loop is to tighten the tension on the string, pull really hard on the string to stretch it a little, then play aggressively for ~5 minutes. Then when I loosen up the string tension it seems to be a lot better. Takes a while for strings to break in sometimes, especially my badwolfeco sliccs. They can be very slippery at first, but you just gotta break ‘em in.
Does the gold RBC have the MK1/SW logo engraving? I can’t see it in the product photos.
It does not. It only has an under-pad engraving.
Has anybody with a gold RBC shown off the pad engraving yet? I’ve been so curious about it.
The regular pad engraving on other colorways of the response holes and SW x MK1 text is so cool. Especially since it might be the last Spinworthy model to feature those holes.
It’s almost impossible to see without taking the pads off, so here’s (a screenshot of) the engraving file:
This is ONLY under the gold RBC’s pads. Rhnull is a reference to what’s known as the golden blood type.
Is this the same engraving under the pads as other colorways, or is the gold special?
