White base blue glow to be exact.
Clear base that glows green.
Violet and another green that can be mixed into just about anything.
That is the shiz
Awesome! Perfect name for it, too.
Iâm so spoiled by the insanity of some of your recent work that this one is a little boring (despite looking really cool), but the name is absolutely brilliant. Like best/most appropriate colorway name that comes to mind right now.
Sometimes its nice just to relax a bit with these and allow the colors to do the work. Nice white base allows the other three colors to stand out.
I canât wait to see this when itâs done cooking!
Hows the Chupa coming?
Whoever invented pink powder coat needs a serious talking to!
May just be the fact thatâs its a neonish type pink but after the third strip I finally got the white peak to keep from showing the pink underneath. Now just need to wrestle the fade into submission and it will be done.
Frequency Wave in âWonder Breadâ colorwayâŚ
Finished it up last night so some new pics this morning.
Wow, the brightness of the colors really jumps out and reminds me of a jawbreaker. Love it.
Loving the âWonder Bread.â Looks great.
Hey Bob, you know me and my tech questions but gotta ask them since I admire your work.
I can notice just from the pics on this one that the splashes have what seems to me as even more of a raised texture in certain spots than some others. Will these higher spots that seem even higher than others still get leveled out (dont know better way to put that) once the final coat is applied?
My downfall in art is my OCD and worry about every little thing that most others will never notice, only the artist itself will know.
Really thinking bout buying a beat up peak for you to blast way I can airbrush it. Iâm spraying RC cars/buggies/trucks all the time but would love to dabble on a peak design. Something random like plaid peak is what Iâm thinking. You think there is any way you could pull something like a plaid design off with powder? I know the fades would be rather challenging and donât quite grasp how the wet P is applied?
I have the TiWalker you polished and bead blasted the catch zone on the way. Will see if your magic touches have held up to any abuse its previous owners may have put it through.
I will tell you one thing powder is a strange media. Used in a conventional fashion itâs predictable and consistent. Once you start to experiment with it you notice some things about it. Trying to do splashes and speckle type schemes can be a challenge.
Liquefying the powder opens many avenues for application and combinations of styles. However it does lead to what youâve mention in the above, raised splash. There is no way around it if you plan on having any type of graphic, splash, speckle or single color fade. Once cured it just doesnât melt into and become perfectly smooth. Through trial and error Iâve learned to minimize the effect, as much as possible. Top coats of translucent or clear can obviously help smooth out the whole issue but the vibe is always lurking somewhere in the background. The less powder on the throw the better.
The recent half violet half translucent gold 1937, I think, has a 100% seamless fade. This was done in a conventional manner, stock powder gun, but had some hand work done to keep the line more defined. Things like this take much more time and have much bigger margins for error but can actually be controlled much better than the liquid versions.
I read your post very early this morning and was on my way to bed. Upon reading it and heading for the pillow I had a few things pop into my head that may produce some much better results for the speckle splash stuff.
Regarding the Plaid and your Walker. The plaid can be done in powder but cost would drive it through the roof not to mention my patience. Itâs something Iâve been pondering for a while now. The Walker is anyoneâs guess. Polish will always get scratches in it if unprotected and blasted areas are prone to them as well. Iâd be more than happy to clean it up for you if needed.
Lookinâ smooth
C3 Trident in âChameleonâ translucent greenâŚ
Although no sun today to highlight the beauty of this puppy this green has a ultra fine red flake in it that helps give a gold hue to it.
For bearinatux btw
THAT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you so much!! I really like it! I canât wait to see it in the sun!!
