He did specify wide and rim weighted which onedrop indeed doesn’t make

Oh no the irony behind this is that originally he specified wide rim weighted yoyos lol

OneDrop has none (at least not in the last three years?)

That’s fine. My point is that competition and performance are not a monoculture and don’t need to be.

Heard that. Def not a fan of that one.

Taking this table and only account for yoyos >44m in width:

I would consider this empty cereal bowl I just finished as wide and rim weighted

So based on your table, One Drop makes or has made yoyos that are in a comparable width range as other companies. They make fewer of them, but they do/did make them.

Taking this table and limiting it to only competition yoyos:

onedrop width yoyofriends width
pere rev 1 46.24
paragraph 44.79
da vinci 44.64
pheasant mono 45.87
pheasant 2023 45.93
nucleon 44.05
graviton 47.09
tachyon 44.07
shortcut 45
magpie 2 47.49
vulture 45.48
peregrine 45.92
AVG ??? 45.5475

No, because the weight distribution on those models is nowhere near ideal for competition.

I believe G2 Jake’s famous diehard quote is “specs do not make the yoyo”.

Out of curiosity what is your financial limit to buying a monometal made in the US from not OD (maybe still OD machined maybe not)?

Only asking because I see this argument pop up here and there and then see folks say something like a 10-20% retail price increase. Which in turn means the company selling them would not be able to turn a profit and would go under.

Yet it is full of air and happy thoughts!

You’re saying the Hummingbird, Vulture, and Peregrine aren’t competition yoyos?

44mm in width

No, I’m saying that onedrop hasn’t release a competitive-forward throw since the VTWO (which is still …not really that good for competition now). The Burnside 20/20 was the closest attempt and didn’t meet the mark for me. The YYFR yoyos are competition yoyos, through and throughout.

The opposite. All the wide onedrops have no rimweight whereas yoyofriends yoyos have a ton of em

Ah I see, ok. Yeah, I was just comparing all their yoyos since that was Jordan’s original claim.

Don’t mind me
