Let’s Talk Video Games! What are you currently playing?

Got back into rocket league last season and I’m finally starting to get my groove back. So refreshing to have a game i cant blame when I mess up, its just pure mechanics and rotations and I love it.

Been playing RL for a few years now and can definitely agree! honestly haven’t had more fun when playing a game. The community definitely has an interesting mix of toxic/nontoxic players but overall it’s a game I won’t be putting down anytime soon. (Also if u didn’t know and are interested, I think the rlcs world championship is coming up in September! Gonna be live-streamed on twitch I think)

Unfortunately my laptop GPU seems to be on its way out so a bunch of the games I play dont work great anymore. Played a lot of RL and Lethal Company. Now I mostly stick with Old School Runescape since my computer can handle it fine

Recently had one of those days where my dad decided he wanted to play Brawl with me and my brothers. We had to rotate since there’s four of us and only three remotes. The best match by far was when dad decided to play as Jigglypuff. I smirked as I chose Samus. I told him he was punishing himself. I hate Jigglypuff. He won… even though he rolled off the stage twice. We were laughing so hard

(FWIW I still think Jigglypuff sucks lolol)

Baldurs Gate 3 Multiplayer has had me in a chokehold for the past three weeks. Still barely in act 2

Anyone else playing Silksong? Brings me back to the days of games being so frustrating you want to throw your controller at the screen but you can’t stop playing it for some reason.

It’s on my list to snag in the near future!

Yeah! I haven’t hit anything too crazy yet but frustrating games are my jam. I’m about 15 hours in or so and I feel like I’m just scratching the surface. I’m definitely taking my time with it.

I’m trying to finish up Hollow Knight first, but i’ve put an hour into Silk Song just to get a taste of the world and movement

I’m at around the same amount of time and still on the first act. The boss fights at the start weren’t too bad and I beat a few on the first try… then things got real. Been taking like 10-20 tries on some of them. I’m currently stuck on The Last Judge guarding the gate of The Citadel. Even the run up to the fight is frustrating.

Good thing there are plenty of areas to explore along with the side quests to keep me entertained. So far, it’s been a damn good game.

Is silksong playable if you’ve never played Hollow Knight before? Also the top deck in your photo is sweeeeet

I’m playing them out of order and no problem here. They probably have interconnections but it stands alone perfectly. I have the first game in my library but I’m hype to play this one right now.

Also Nine Sols is another excellent example of this genre. I think that game’s harder overall though because the combat is built around parrying.

I worked in the industry a while back, in promotion for a company and then as a journalist (I actually owned a mildly successful news and review site - also owned one for Disney / Theme park news).

I say that because I still pay attention to the industry, but I feel myself less and less interested in playing these days.

What have I been playing when I do?

  • The Finals

  • Giga Bash (I main with Godzilla - yeee)

I also just picked up Pokemon Snap for the switch, though I haven’t played it yet.

Yeah. IDK, I am not that old or anything, but feel like I am aging out. I also feel like quality of new games has slipped, a lot of safe and wash, rinse, repeat stuff. Meh. Could just be me, though!

I played Hollow Knight and I agree with Nathan. You play as a character from the original but it’s not a direct sequel or anything as far as I can tell.

It sure is  thanks for helping create one of the greatest yo-yos ever made! It still gets daily use after 5+ years and I learned most of my tricks on it.
