Let’s talk craft beer (for those legally able to drink)

It’s the best. I no longer sweat about getting Pliny or anything else. Between Beachwood and Riip, I don’t really need much else.

Believe it or not, but Utah’s got some killer brewery’s. Saltfire is one of my favorites. I don’t typically drink except for when I’m working on bikes though, that’s when it’s whisky time. As you can see there has been a lot of wrenching going on lately

Been drinking Steam Whistle Pilsner, personally. Was never much of a beer guy until I tried it. Super smooth, grainy taste with just a hint of fruity and floral flavours.

Never heard of that one, I’ll have to do some searching. Good pilsners aren’t too common in the US. Beachwood recently released a decent one in cans. My favorite US one is Victory Prima Pils, but you don’t see it too much anymore where I live on the west coast. I normally just get Bitburger or Weinstephaner (Pilsner) lately.

I’ll have to check those out. I think Pilsner’s a bit more common in Canada, where I’m at. The Steam Whistle beer I mentioned is a Canadian beer, as well.

Yep, I looked it up. I’ll check the local place that has a decent list of imports just to give it a try. Pilsner afaik is the style that most of the mass market beer is based on, but that’s all garbage. And as a result, it took a while before the craft beer world bothered making any decent pils. Plus there’s always been good Pilsner and similar beer from Germany, Austria, Czech and other places in that area.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m getting kind of tired of the tropical / fruity trend every brewery seems to be on. Like, I get it, it’s refreshing sometimes… but come on! not every beer or IPA needs to have mango and pineapple or some-such similar tropical fruit quality. What happened to all of the punch you in the gut piney resinous & super dank stuff!? Even big name micro breweries that mocked fruity beers have joined in on the trend. I don’t get it!

I’m glad fall is rearing up. Now we’ll see some great martzen’s, stouts, porters, imperial ipas, etc. etc. come out.

It’s more of a seasonal thing usually I. The winter there are more hazy and in the summer the summer you get more west coast and fruity . I like the citrusy ones but don’t care for IPAs that are sweet .

I also hate when I go to a brewery I. The Qi yet and everything is milkshake hazy .

Oh this is my kind of thread!

I’m an owner at Beach Haus Brewery in NJ. If anyone is local feel free to hit me up and stop in! I’ve been thinking about hosting throwers in the area to meet up there one day. There’s plenty of space in the taproom to spread out and hang.
