I have my Deep State set for responsive (or semi-responsive) and I love it. The weight and the form factor are perfect, except it seems like it might be prone to dings and deep gashes. So I’m wondering if there exists something like a 7068 Deep State.
I have looked at the various Slimline / Modern Responsive threads but most yo-yos seem to be 6061.
I know the RBC is 7068 and there is a 7068 version of the El Mijo, but those seem wider than the Deep State.
I also know there are some slim stainless steel and titanium throws, but I believe they are all heavier.
Is there something out there I am missing or do we need to nudge, poke and prod One Drop to make it happen?
Noted with thanks. I just use 7068 and 7075 interchangably, which I know is technically wrong. The general intent, though, is an upgrade in durability from 6061 aluminum while maintaining the general weight and essence of the throw.
Totally feel you on that, I’d jump on a 7000 series Deep State in a heart beat.
I will say though that the deep state, especially the finish, has been surprisingly durable. Ive had my deep state living in my pocket for close to 6 months along with keys and carbon fiber wallet. Tons of small nicks from those, lots of small gouges from actually walking the dog on concrete, or being clumsy and letting it smack the ground. Its still dead smooth and looks way better than you’d expect.
