WE’RE BACK AND GOING AGAIN! Welcome back to the IronArm Contest returning from a 2 day stop. We are completing starting over with a new system that will be a little harder but it won’t take long for you all to get used to it.
For right now, anybody who wishes to compete may send me a PM saying that want to compete. The rules and everything else will be posted here.
I know last time was fun and all but I made a few mistakes that the mods didn’t really like so now I found a way to avoid most of those mistakes.
Set-Up:
Step 1: Whenever I schedule a challenge (may or may not be every day), you will find it here on this page.
Step 2: You can, a) at the set time, compete and PM me when you are done instead of replying. I would like you to, (this is not required) send me a video of you doing the challenge after you have said that you are done just as proof, or b) If the set time does not work for you (and this may only take place if the previous circumstance occurs), you may film youself doing the challenge and send me the video via PM.
These video will not be posted to the public. Only I will see them.
Step 3: The next day, I will post the results. This makes it fun because until then, you all will have no idea who won because you guys will have PMed me instead of replied.
Rules:
Videos are not required but are appreciated
If you reply to this post, your time will not count and you will have to do it again
There will be 10 challenges, no more, no less.
Set times will not change unless I will be unavailable at the time I set. I know this sounds selfish but I don’t want to run into a circumstance where everybody needs a different time to compete.
Results will not change so please do not make excuses
You will not get extra points for how good of quality the video is but I would like it to be good enough for me to see it
Rules will change if necessary. Exceptions can be made. If an exception is needed, please PM me.
There are no prizes other than bragging rights. I know this may not sound fun but I really have nothing good to give as a prize and no way to do it either
No asking for prizes, PMs on that subject will be ingnored
Have fun, this is what the contest is all about
PM me if you have any suggestions to the rules
Scoring System: (Same as the previous contest)
You get as many points as the place you finished in. I know this sounds confusing, here is an example:
1st Place: Zorro (gets 1 point)
2nd Place: Erik Kerber (gets 2 points)
3rd Place: GregP (gets 3 points)
etc.
If you do not understand this, please PM me. I would gladly give further detail if needed.
List of Challenges:
The first three contests are listed below:
20 Shockwaves (10/21/13)
200 Eli Hops (10/22/13)
30 Gyro Flops, must be full rotations (10/23/13)
20 Kwijibos (10/24/13)
50 Matrixes (10/28/13)
1000 Pinwheels (10/29/13)

100 Rock the Babies, must be full rocks (10/31/13)
CHALLENGE #1:
It is time for the first challenge of the 2nd IronArm Contest. All scores revert back to 0 so you can get a fresh start if you had bad times on the previous challenges.
CHALLENGE #2:
Challenge #2 will be a bit harder than you all may expect. You may end in a sore arm and lots of string burn too. Gloves are legal so you may definitely want to use one for this.
CHALLENGE #3:
This is going to be fun. This trick was suggested to me a little while back by somebody on the forums (stuarttw). I hope you all find this fun.
CHALLENGE #5:
This is a fun one. It will be cool to see how many reps you guys and I can do with one sleeper. This isn’t that hard so I can imagine that everybody will be able to do this kind of quickly so practice your speed before the contest.
CHALLENGE #6:
This one sounds like it will be over fast until you see what the objective is. I hope you all have learned this one because I know some people who don’t even both trying this one out.
CHALLENGE #7:
This may take a while even with the small objective. This trick is also pretty advanced so if you are a beginner, this may not be the funnest time for you.
CHALLENGE #8:
This brings back memories of when I had just begun my yoyo adventure. An easy trick, big objective. I wonder how well everybody will do with this one.
CHALLENGE #9:
This trick is not that easily found. I hope you all can find a tutorial somewhere because this trick is quick and easy to learn and actually cool looking and fun to do.
CHALLENGE #10: (The Final Challenge)
This is, by far, the most difficult challenge. The reason is, the trick is not a repeater so you will have to find a way to start it over again. I am not going to tell you how though, you have to figure that out on your own.
Challenge #1 is tomorrow. Hope you have the trick down.
Also, I would like some more contestants.
Last thing, there are a lot of questions that are frequently asked about the contest. I am hear to answer them.
Do I have to make a video?
No, videos are not required at any time. Although, I would appreciate one if you can not make the set time. Again, this is not required.
Do I have to do all of my [insert name of trick here]s in one sleeper?
No, you may bind the yoyo and throw it as many times as you need. Doing some of these without doing so is really going to be challenging. That is, challenging on top of challenging.
How do I sign-up?
Just PM me. That is the only way I will be excepting contestants
Is registration still open?
Registration closes on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2013 at 9am. REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED
What are the tiebreakers?
There will be bonus challenges for the tied contestants. There will only be a tiebreaker for those who are tied in 1st Place. All other places are not worth tiebreaking.
Missed the Magic Drop by:
failed string rejection: 24 times
wrong/too many strings: 31 times
lose the string from my NTH on the Shockwave: 12 times
missed trapeze: 2 times
Man, I missed a few, too. The funny (yet, actually expected) thing is that I was groaning afterwards, “this stupid trick” and my wife asked which one. I told her and then had to demonstrate. Repeated 4 times without a tilt or loss of spin.
So, when it “counted” I was sucking. But it worked out to be pretty good practice. My Magic Drop has improved!
Nothing to see here… just a glorified timer, really. The lighting is appalling because of the “glorified timer” thing. It’s even worse than I intended, but what’s done is done! Took me 2:37 from first throw to last catch.
(video will be uploading for a while yet… but I wanted to click “post” so that I can move onto other things!)
